As The Witcher prepares for its highly anticipated fourth season, new lead Liam Hemsworth opened up about stepping into the legendary role of Geralt of Rivia — and how his fiancée Gabriella Brooks responded to the transformation.

“I’ve been sort of living and breathing this character for the last two years,” Liam said during a recent interview. “She’s just as excited as I am for everyone to finally see it.”

Replacing Henry Cavill was no small task, but Hemsworth’s co-stars praised his dedication and calm strength. “The man is unshakable,” said showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich. “He came in with conviction, with strong ideas — and he fit in immediately.”

Anya Chalotra, who plays Yennefer, highlighted the deep emotional connection between her and Geralt in the new season: “It’s a love story that survives through brutality and chaos. Love is the hope that keeps them going.”

Freya Allan (Ciri) described Season 4 as a turning point for her character — one that explores independence, mistakes, and emotional struggle. “It’s about figuring out who she is beyond being the princess or Geralt’s ward,” she explained.

Even longtime fan-favorite Jaskier, played by Joey Batey, faces darker tests. “This is the closest he’s come to death,” he revealed. “It rewires everything about him and what his songs truly mean.”

The cast also teased a few surprises, including a musical number, animated flashbacks, and shocking cliffhangers. Season 4 will lead directly into a confirmed Season 5, which they promise will deliver redemption and closure after “a dark ending.”

Despite the challenges of taking over such an iconic role, Hemsworth says he feels immense gratitude:

“The support from the cast and crew has been incredible. It’s been a wild, rewarding experience — and I can’t wait for fans to see what we’ve created.”
