In the footage, Diddy can be heard instructing his team:

“Listen to me. I’m going to get off the phone right now and I am going to let you professionals look at the situation and come back to me with a solution. No matter what, no matter what anybody said… Y’all are not working together. The right—we’re losing.”

When asked if anything surprised him while watching, 50 Cent said it was “surprising that he actually filmed it.”

Diddy’s team told NBC that the footage was never authorized for release. Meanwhile, The New York Times reported that Diddy had been working on his own documentary before his arrest and had been in discussions with Netflix. Netflix, in turn, directed inquiries to the documentary series director Alexandria Stapleton, who confirmed that the footage was legally obtained.

The documentary also shows Diddy interacting with fans in Harlem, followed by candid remarks:

“I need some hand sanitizer… I’ve been out in the streets amongst the people… I feel like I need to wash, like I’m dirt.”

Stapleton explained that these moments reveal Diddy’s character, capturing him forgetting he was on tape.

The jurors also discussed Diddy’s relationship with longtime girlfriend Cassie Ventura, with one noting:

“I believe Cassie’s a victim in all this… she was 18, like 19 years old in the very beginning. Over time, you conditioned her for it.”
