Bruce Springsteen has made it clear he has no plans for a farewell tour like KISS. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, he was asked directly if he would ever do one, and he simply replied, âNo.â
He went on to talk about how much his bandâs performance has grown over the years. âWe played differently back in 1975. There was a youthful energy. But now, after 50 years together, there is a depth and experience that really shines through. The band is just incredible on stage right now.â
Springsteenâs comments came during a wide-ranging conversation where he also discussed his new box set and upcoming projects.
Even as people wonder about retirement, Springsteen and the E Street Band are busy with a major tour. According to FOH Online, they are playing three-hour shows across North America and Europe as part of their 2023 to 2025 run. The lineup features up to 18 musicians, including longtime E Street Band members like Nils Lofgren, Steven Van Zandt, and Max Weinberg, along with brass, percussion, and backup singers.
The band has changed a lot over the years but still keeps its legendary feel. For example, Jake Clemons now plays saxophone in honor of his late uncle Clarence Clemons. Soozie Tyrell adds violin, and Charles Giordano handles the organ and accordion after Danny Federici passed away.
All of this shows how the band continues to evolve while staying true to what makes them special. It also supports Springsteenâs belief in their current strength and suggests they might be reaching another peak in their long career, with no farewell in sight.
