Chloe Bibby & Aliyah Boston Reportedly Frustrated With Stephanie White After Fever’s Loss to Wings
Tensions are reportedly boiling over within the Indiana Fever locker room after their recent loss to the Dallas Wings—one that exposed growing frustration among players, including Chloe Bibby and All-Star forward Aliyah Boston, toward head coach Stephanie White’s game decisions and leadership.
According to multiple sources close to the team, both Bibby and Boston expressed serious dissatisfaction behind the scenes following the Fever’s disappointing 82-74 loss to the struggling Wings. The defeat marked yet another missed opportunity for the Fever to solidify their playoff hopes, and it raised fresh questions about coaching strategy, player rotations, and in-game adjustments—or lack thereof.
Aliyah Boston, usually reserved and professional in her postgame demeanor, appeared visibly frustrated during the post-game press conference. Though she didn’t name names, her comments were pointed:
“We know what this team is capable of. We’ve talked about how we need to play together, how we need to use our strengths. But when those strengths aren’t being used… it’s frustrating. Simple as that.”
Insiders say that Boston, who logged just 29 minutes in the game despite dominating in the paint early, was bewildered by White’s decision to bench her for extended stretches during critical moments in the fourth quarter—particularly while the Wings went on a 14–3 scoring run.
Chloe Bibby, who’s seen her minutes fluctuate wildly in recent games, also shared her disappointment more candidly, reportedly telling teammates after the game, “We keep losing games we should be winning. That’s on preparation. That’s on decisions.” While not directly quoted in media interviews, several Fever staff members confirmed Bibby’s post-game mood was “heated but justified.”
Coach Stephanie White, who returned to the Fever this season after a stint with the Connecticut Sun, has faced increasing criticism for her inconsistent rotations, questionable timeouts, and what some analysts call a “rigid” offensive system that doesn’t play to her roster’s strengths—particularly that of Boston and rookie star Caitlin Clark.
While White attempted to downplay the loss, stating post-game that “every team hits bumps” and “we’re still learning to close,” fans and insiders aren’t buying it. With the Fever’s record slipping below expectations despite a talented young core, pressure is mounting—and not just from outside voices.
The locker room itself seems to be losing faith.
ESPN’s LaChina Robinson weighed in on the situation, tweeting:
“Indiana has the talent. Boston and Clark are elite. But you can’t win with mismatched coaching. This loss was on the sidelines.”
It’s not yet clear how the Fever front office will respond, but the growing unrest can’t be ignored for long. Players like Boston and Bibby speaking up—either publicly or privately—is a sign that internal patience may be wearing thin.
With another tough matchup ahead and media scrutiny rising, Coach White may find herself on the hot seat sooner than expected. One thing is certain: if changes aren’t made fast, the Fever’s promising season could spiral into chaos.
