Francia Raisa is breaking her silence about Selena Gomez’s wedding to Benny Blanco — and fans can’t stop reading between the lines.
The How I Met Your Father star briefly addressed her longtime friend during a recent interview with Univision’s Primer Impacto, which was filmed just days before Selena’s September 27 nuptials.
Although Francia didn’t confirm whether she was invited to the ceremony, her comments have reignited curiosity about where the two stand today.
A Friendship Once Defined by Sacrifice
Francia and Selena’s bond goes back more than a decade. The pair met in 2008 and quickly became inseparable — so much so that in 2017, Francia donated a kidney to Selena amid her lupus battle.
Their friendship became a powerful symbol of love and loyalty in Hollywood. But over the years, rumors of a rift began to surface.
“Just Like Siblings, We Go Through Ups and Downs”
In a 2024 interview with E! News, Francia opened up about their complicated friendship.
“I mean, we’ve been friends — God, we met in 2008 — and just like siblings, we go through our ups and downs,” she said.
She echoed that sentiment in 2023 when speaking to USA Today, insisting that there was never a dramatic fallout.
“We’ve never really had beef with one another. Nothing happened,” she explained. “If you ask either of us, we don’t know what happened. We just needed that time apart.”
When asked if she ever regretted donating her kidney, Francia didn’t hesitate:
“No. The friendship has always been there. There was just a tiff.”
Still Supporting Selena
Despite the speculation, Francia has continued to show respect for Selena’s work — especially her advocacy for mental health awareness.
During a 2023 interview with Access Hollywood, she said:
“I’m happy that Sel’s doing something like this. She and I share a lot when it comes to mental health, and I’m here to really support my friend and everything that she’s been doing.”
Where They Stand Now
While neither Selena nor Francia has publicly commented on each other’s lives in recent months, Francia’s measured tone in her latest interview suggests that time — and mutual respect — may be helping heal old wounds.
Whether or not she attended the wedding, one thing is clear: the bond between Selena Gomez and Francia Raisa, though tested, has left a lasting mark on both their lives — one built on love, sacrifice, and second chances.
