America’s Got Talent closed its 20th anniversary season with a full-circle victory: Jessica Sanchez, who first appeared on the show as a 10-year-old during its debut, was crowned the winner. Now 20 years later, she walked away with the $1 million prize—and a story that feels straight out of a movie.

Jessica’s Emotional Victory
Moments after host Terry Crews called her name, Sanchez was overwhelmed with emotion.
“I’m still trying to process it,” she admitted. “I was sobbing on stage. I just feel so grateful and so blessed. To be standing here, nine months pregnant, after fighting for this for 20 years—it’s a dream.”
The win was even more poignant given her journey. “If I could tell that 10-year-old girl anything, it would be to keep believing in yourself. All the struggles brought me to this moment, and it means so much more because of them,” she reflected.
When asked who she wanted to share the moment with, Sanchez’s answer was immediate: her husband. “He came on stage and hugged me, and he never shows emotion—but he was crying too. That meant everything.”

Simon Cowell: “That’s a Movie”
Judge Simon Cowell was quick to call Sanchez’s comeback and win “a movie.”
“She was on the show when it first started. She comes back 20 years later, pregnant, and wins the show. That’s America. That’s a movie. And she absolutely nailed it last night,” he said.
Cowell also praised the finale performances: “From the birthday opener to Leona Lewis, every act was amazing. It was a true celebration of talent.”
Mel B: “She’s Inspiring”
Mel B was equally moved by Sanchez’s journey.
“If at first you don’t succeed, try again. She came back, and it was worth it. She’s inspiring, beautiful, talented—and she never gave up,” she said.
Howie Mandel: “The Whole Thing Made Sense”
Mandel reflected on Sanchez’s story with admiration.
“She was one of the first acts I saw this season, and immediately her story struck me. From a little girl 20 years ago to now, with her own child on the way, her voice stronger than ever—it all made sense. I was worried she’d go into labor tonight with how excited she was!”

Heidi Klum & Sofia Vergara: “A Dream Ending”
Heidi Klum called Sanchez’s win “a true movie ending,” while Sofia Vergara highlighted the life lesson behind it: “Never give up on your dream. Jessica didn’t, and now she’s won it all.”
What’s Next for Jessica
While Sanchez now holds the $1 million prize, her biggest dream lies beyond the stage.
“My next big goal is becoming a really great mom. Music has been my life, but this new season of motherhood is something I’m so excited for,” she said with a smile.
As America celebrates her win, Sanchez’s journey is proof that persistence, passion, and heart can turn even the longest road into a triumphant finale.
