Justin Baldoni’s $400 million countersuit against Blake Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds has officially been dismissed, according to court documents obtained by Access Hollywood.

On Friday, October 31, U.S. District Court Judge Lewis J. Liman issued an order stating that because Baldoni missed the deadline to appeal his previously dismissed case, his defamation lawsuit has now been fully tossed out.

The court order also noted that both parties had been directed to “show cause why final judgment should not be entered in this case and why The Times’ motion should not be dismissed” by October 17 — but, according to court filings, only Lively’s legal team responded.

The dismissal follows earlier developments from June, when Judge Liman initially granted a motion to dismiss Baldoni’s countersuit but allowed his legal team time to file an amended complaint. Around the same time, Baldoni’s separate $250 million libel lawsuit against The New York Times was also dismissed.

However, the legal feud between Baldoni and Lively is far from over. The two are still expected to head to trial in March 2026 over Lively’s ongoing lawsuit.
