Bruce Springsteen and Patti Scialfa were welcome faces in Dublin as they watched their daughter Jessica compete in an equestrian competition.

The Born To Run singer and his musician wife are often seen in the stands watching their 23-year old ride, this time making her debut during the Speed Stakes International Competition 1 at the Dublin Horse Show 2014.

Walking arm-in-arm Bruce, 64, and Patti, 61, wore happy smiles and a younger appearance than their sixty-something years.

Bruce and the Rumble Doll star have been together since his New Jersey days after she joined his E Street back in the late 1980s.

They moved back to the state after starting their family in Los Angeles in the Nineties, as they also have two sons: Evan, 24, who sometimes joins his father on tour as a guitarist, and Samuel , 20, a firefighter.

Speaking of his role as a parent in 2011, Bruce said: ‘I don’t know if kids in general care as much about their parents as people as they should, until they’re in their late 20s at best.

‘They’re furniture until then and, as a parent, you want to be a sturdy piece of furniture if you can.’

The Boss finished his two-year tour this year, having played over 170 gigs across the world as he promoted his 18th studio album High Hopes.

To mark the end of the tour, Springsteen released a 10-minute film inspired by album track Hunter Of Invisible Game.

His directorial debut was posted on his website and sees the singer appear as a lonely hero in a post-apocalyptic world, saving children’s lives.

Filmmaker Thom, who made rockumentaries about Springsteen’s Born to Run and Darkness on the Edge of Town, helped with the project.

‘For a long part of the year, Thom Zimny and I have been talking about shooting a short film for Hunter Of Invisible Game,’ Bruce wrote on his website with the short film. ‘We’ve finally got the job done, and we think it’s one of our best.’
