Puppy Rescued from Neglect Makes Miraculous Recovery
From the moment I picked him up until now, I have not stopped crying over his condition. This puppy, just two months old, arrived severely emaciated, freezing, and suffering from hypoglycemia. On the way to the veterinarian, I held him tightly the entire time, talking to him, stroking him, placing him near a heater, and begging him to hold on just a little longer. His life was hanging by a thread.
When we arrived at the vet, he was still breathing, but he was more dead than alive. It was heartbreaking to see him in such a state. Neglect has its consequences, and it pains me deeply that he had to endure all of this and is now on the brink of being beyond recovery.
The woman who reported his case told us that the puppy belonged to her neighbors. They had brought him home as a gift for their son, but his condition worsened due to neglect and indifference. Because of his pitiful appearance, which was a direct result of their actions, they completely abandoned him. He wandered around the house for days until she decided to intervene.
We named him Tucu. He spent two days in intensive care, receiving the necessary treatment and care. We stayed by his side, comforting and pampering him as much as possible. In the end, Tucu chose to fight, and today, he has left the intensive care unit.

After three blood transfusions, his hematocrit rose from 7 to 24, and he is slowly regaining some strength. However, he still struggles to stand on his own. Tucu is suffering from severe mange, which has stripped away most of his fur. He is also extremely weak and malnourished.
As I watched over him, I couldn’t help but think that all of this suffering was inflicted by his previous owners, through their cruelty and neglect. Now, Tucu faces a long road to recovery and must learn how to live again.
The veterinarian prescribed the necessary medications for his skin treatment and allowed us to bring him home. At home, Tucu receives continuous care, including intensive skin treatments. He is given medicated baths, special creams, and ointments. The medication also contains moisturizers to begin healing his cracked, dry skin. Topical treatments are applied daily to ensure his skin remains hydrated and avoids further irritation.
In addition to medical care, proper nutrition and gentle attention have given Tucu the best possible chance to recover from the debilitating effects of mange. We are still struggling to help him walk, but we see daily improvements. We are taking things slowly, giving his tiny body time to heal after so much neglect and abuse.
Tucu may never have known love or care before. To his previous owners, he was just something to be discarded. We have left all of that behind. Now, all that remains is complete happiness. He is protected and loved to the fullest.
