A family contacted our team while walking near the beach. They reported a dog in a dire situation—chained to a post with a heavy chain, her body reduced to nothing but skin and bones. When we arrived, she lay there, gazing at us with profound sadness in her eyes.

After some searching, we found her owner. The woman claimed to have found the dog on the street and wanted to save her. However, her actions told a different story. She admitted to tying the dog up for two weeks without providing food or water. In that moment, we couldn’t help but wish she had left the dog on the street, where perhaps someone else might have helped sooner.

We named the dog Ternura and rushed her to the veterinarian. Immediate treatment began for her wounds. In addition to starvation, Ternura was suffering from the pain of her injuries. Despite everything, she remained gentle—never trying to harm anyone, only showing fear.

Ternura was diagnosed with severe malnutrition and liver problems. She required a carefully managed, nutritious diet. Our team committed to healing her and giving her the chance at a better life she so deserved.

We provided Ternura with a personalized meal plan and round-the-clock veterinary care. Her condition stabilized, though she still struggled to walk. With time, patience, and constant support, Ternura began to recover. Her health and energy slowly returned, as did her joy and confidence.

After two weeks, her progress was remarkable. She gained weight, and her liver issues resolved. Love, it seemed, was stronger than anything else. In the end, Ternura was given a second chance at life.

Soon, she will be ready to move into her new home. We have received many adoption offers, but she is not quite ready yet. Until then, we continue to care for her, grateful for her resilience and spirit.

May God bless Ternura on her journey to a brighter future.
