Tris’s Journey: From Abandonment to a New Life
We raced against time to reach a dog reported to be hiding in the area since the previous night. She was severely injured, suffering from a gangrenous leg. The dog looked at us with sadness before collapsing again.
As we asked around, we learned little about her past. Her fur was matted and dirty, and she lay silently, her eyes full of sorrow. Seeing her cry left me confused and heartbroken. However, after a while, she warmed up to us and allowed us to approach her without fear. She seemed to know we were there to help, even raising her injured leg as if to show us her pain.

At the vet, X-rays revealed her leg was badly torn and necrotic—it couldn’t be saved. Surgery was performed that very evening. Miraculously, her condition stabilized the next day, though she was thinner than I’d expected. Over the following days, she survived the infection, which felt like a miracle.
We searched for more information about her. Locals said she had been wandering for months; some claimed she was hit by a car, others believed she’d been abandoned in this state. We tried to verify everything, but only received fragments of information. One thing was clear: she had been left alone to suffer.
After two weeks, she was well enough to leave the vet. Her wound was healing well, and we prepared to start a new life together. After her long ordeal, she finally slept peacefully, exhausted but safe.
A beautiful journey awaited us. She became my princess. The vets provided medication, which she took obediently, and she quickly adapted to her new home, exploring every corner. I became convinced she once had an owner—her mannerisms made it clear. She was the bravest, most beautiful fighter I had ever met, running swiftly on just three legs. Her once-sad face was now bright and happy, as her life entered a new, joyful chapter.

Every day brought positive changes. When I first met her, she seemed like a forgotten old dog, resigned to the worst. But love changed everything. She never expected to be loved again, but she gained weight and health quickly. Isn’t that the magic of love?
We gave up searching for her origins, unsure if her injury happened before or after her abandonment. The truth may remain a mystery forever—perhaps only she knows the answer. But we decided to leave the past behind and move forward.
We named her Tris, our little princess who loves to be pampered. I bought her beautiful clothes, and every day is now a happy one for her. Having her by my side is a precious gift; she fills my life with positive energy.
Many people ask about her missing leg, and I proudly share her story—what she endured, and what she has now rightfully received. Thank you for joining us on this journey.
