After sitting at 4-under through his first 14 holes on Thursday, April 10, Rory McIlroy looked like he might finally win the final event to complete his career grand slam. However, he carried two double-bogeys on his closing four holes to sit at even par after the first round.

He then fired back-to-back 6-under 66’s to not only get right back in the tournament, but take a two-shot lead into Sunday’s final round. McIlroy holds that two-shot lead over Bryson DeChambeau, who finished his third round with an improbable birdie on No. 18 to move to 10-under.
As the final round gets going, WNBA superstar Caitlin Clark revealed she’ll be rooting for McIlroy after initially pulling for Ludvig Aberg, who sits just six shots back.
“So, coming into the tournament, I was rooting for Ludvig [Aberg]. I wanted him to win. But I think Rory [Mcllroy] is going to do it, which I think is going to be really cool. I think everybody…we were sitting at the 18th green yesterday on Friday, and you could just tell everybody was cheering extra hard for him. And he had a really good day, so that was really fun to watch,” Clark told Kira K. Dixon ahead of the final round.
In preparation for the first major of the year, Clark admitted she packed plenty of clothing – and has designs on raiding the Masters merchandise tent this weekend.
Fans loved her plans – and her outfit.
“My goat is rich,” one person said.
“all that time on her phone is paying off,” added another with a laughing emoji.
“i love how she thinks she can just walk in and browse,” joked another.
The final round of the Masters is underway.
