A Look at the New Bruce Springsteen Biopic
Jeremy Allen White takes on a bold role as he plays Bruce Springsteen in the upcoming film Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere. The new trailer shows White stepping into the shoes of the rock legend during one of the most personal times in his life.
According to 20th Century Studios, the film “chronicles the making of Bruce Springsteen’s 1982 Nebraska album when he was a young musician on the cusp of global superstardom, struggling to reconcile the pressures of success with the ghosts of his past.”
A Raw Chapter in Springsteen’s Career
The Nebraska album was recorded in Springsteen’s New Jersey bedroom using a simple 4-track recorder. The label describes it as “a raw, haunted acoustic record populated by lost souls searching for a reason to believe.” The film focuses on this moment in Springsteen’s life, when he chose to strip down his sound and reflect deeply through his music.
Instead of chasing commercial success, Springsteen took a step back to record songs that came from a place of quiet and pain. The film brings this moment to life, with Jeremy Allen White portraying the thoughtful and sometimes troubled artist behind the scenes.
A Trailer That Sets the Tone
The trailer was released on June 18 and starts with a scene of Springsteen considering whether to buy a car. A salesman tells him he recognizes him, to which Springsteen replies, “Well that makes one of us.” The line sets the mood for the rest of the trailer—quiet, moody, and introspective.
Viewers are then taken into Springsteen’s private world, where he’s seen in a small room, recording music with just a guitar. An engineer assists him, but Bruce stays focused on the feeling he wants to capture. “It don’t need to be perfect,” he says. “I want it to feel like I’m in the room by myself.”

Jeremy Allen White’s Performance
White, best known for his role in The Bear, appears almost unrecognizable as he portrays the younger Springsteen. His voice, expressions, and mannerisms seem to reflect the depth of the artist during a tough moment in his life.
With stripped-down visuals and quiet moments, the trailer hints that the film is more than a music biopic. It’s a personal story about a man reflecting on where he’s been and where he might be going next.
