The 40-year-old Los Angeles Lakers star—whose team was eliminated from the first round of the 2025 NBA Playoffs by the Minnesota Timberwolves—appears to be using his free time during the offseason to make major headway on the construction of his future home.

Images obtained exclusively reveal the evolution of the sporting star’s opulent abode, which he began building late in 2023—three years after he purchased the property for $36.75 million during the COVID-19 pandemic.

He wound up with a true trophy—a compound once owned by the creator of hit soap operas “The Young and the Restless” and “The Bold and the Beautiful.”

The prestigious property, which was originally built in the 1930s and offered four bedrooms, had been on the market for $39 million, but James sealed the deal for $36.75 million in September 2020.

Although glamorous, it wasn’t the right fit for the basketball star, so he razed the property, leaving behind a mountain of rubble.

He then applied for permits to construct a brand-new home on the land—which were finally approved in the spring of 2023, when work on the property kicked off.
