Bihar Election Dates Announced, Maithili Thakur Expresses Desire to Contest

The Bihar Assembly election dates have been announced: voting will take place in two phases, on November 6 and November 11, with counting on November 14. While ticket distribution is yet to be finalized by any alliance, popular folk singer Maithili Thakur has expressed her wish to contest the election on a BJP ticket.

In an exclusive interview, Maithili Thakur said she was inspired after meeting BJP leaders Vinod Tawde and Nityanand Rai. She stated that if given an opportunity, she would gladly contest to serve her region, aligning with her vision of promoting local culture and youth development.

There is speculation on social media that Maithili could contest from Alinagar in Darbhanga or Benipatti in Madhubani, both places close to her roots. Thakur said she would be happy with either seat and is ready for whatever the party decides.

Maithili Thakur confirmed her desire to enter politics, stating that if she receives the BJP ticket, she will definitely contest in the upcoming Bihar elections.
