Wedding bells may soon echo louder than stadium cheers for Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift. On the September 17 episode of the New Heights podcast, the Kansas City Chiefs star opened up about wedding plans while chatting with his brother Jason Kelce and late-night host Jimmy Fallon.
When Fallon asked if the newly engaged couple had started planning their big day, Travis didn’t miss the chance to joke at his own expense. “That’s the next step in it all,” he laughed. “I just got to figure out how to win a football game first—that’ll be easier compared to catching a goddamn football.”
The lighthearted jab came after the Chiefs’ 20–7 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in their season opener, where the tight end dropped a crucial pass. But if there’s one thing Travis isn’t going to fumble, it’s his wedding vibes.
A Live-Music Love Story
Pressed about music choices for the reception, Kelce revealed the couple’s shared taste. “We’re live music kind of people,” he said, hinting at a reception filled with high-energy performances instead of a traditional DJ set. Fallon quickly recalled Travis’ surprise jam session with Justin Timberlake back in April at the 8AM Golf Invitational, describing it as “one of the best things I’ve ever heard.”
With Taylor Swift—arguably the world’s biggest pop star—by his side, fans are already imagining a wedding soundtrack that could rival a Grammy lineup.
The Proposal Nerves
Though he’s a Super Bowl champion, Kelce admitted he was rattled when it came time to propose. In a recent interview with Erin Andrews for NFL on Fox, the 35-year-old described the nerve-wracking moment.
“The palms were definitely sweating,” he confessed. “I’m an emotional guy, so there were a few tears. But it’s been an exciting ride up to this date, and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with her.”
Kelce and Swift announced their engagement in August, capping off a whirlwind romance that has captivated both the sports and music worlds. For Kelce, the journey from “cornfed kid born outside Cleveland” to football stardom now feels even brighter with Swift by his side.
“She’s brought excitement and joy for life that made me a better man, made me a better person,” he shared. “She’s made me that much more comfortable in who I am.”
What’s Next for the Power Couple?
While no wedding date has been announced, fans are already dreaming about the guest list, the music, and whether Swift herself might take the stage. One thing’s certain: if Travis Kelce ever goes on tour, Swifties will be front row—and so will Taylor.
