KANSAS CITY, MO — In a surprising yet electrifying moment at the Kansas City Chiefs’ training camp this week, Hall of Fame wide receiver Terrell Owens was spotted catching passes — not from a retired QB or assistant coach — but directly from Patrick Mahomes, with Travis Kelce by his side giving pointers.

The 50-year-old NFL legend, known for his incredible athleticism and larger-than-life personality, turned heads Thursday morning when he stepped onto the field wearing full practice gear and participated in light drills during the team’s walk-through session.

An Unexpected Invitation

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid confirmed that Owens had been personally invited by the team to attend camp — not as a publicity stunt, but as a special guest and “student of the game.”

“T.O. loves football. That’s never changed,” Reid told reporters. “He reached out, asked if he could stop by, and we said, ‘Why not?’ He’s a Hall of Famer, still in incredible shape, and it was great to have his energy around the guys.”

Reid added that Owens was particularly interested in learning from today’s greats, including Mahomes and Kelce — arguably the NFL’s top quarterback-tight end duo.

“He asked me about route leverage, timing with Pat, even some of our option stuff,” Kelce said. “You’d think a guy like that would just come here to pose for pics — but he was locked in.”
