Howard Stern ERUPTS After Greg Gutfeld HUMILIATES Him on Live TV
In a clash that quickly set social media ablaze, veteran radio shock jock Howard Stern reportedly “erupted” in anger following a scathing segment by Fox News host Greg Gutfeld, who publicly mocked Stern on live television, branding him a “sellout” and “shadow of who he used to be.”
The moment occurred during a recent episode of Gutfeld!, where the outspoken host addressed what he called Stern’s “identity crisis.” Gutfeld, known for his brash commentary, took aim at Stern’s political shift and softened tone in recent years, particularly noting how Stern—once known for boundary-pushing radio—has now embraced what many consider mainstream, progressive narratives.

“I miss the old Howard,” Gutfeld said during his monologue. “You know, the guy who didn’t care what anyone thought. Now he’s more interested in pleasing Hollywood and getting invited to elite dinner parties than saying anything edgy. He’s basically NPR with a wig.”
The crowd laughed, but the comments didn’t land well with Stern or his loyal fanbase. Within 24 hours, Stern addressed the jab on his SiriusXM show, and he didn’t hold back.
“This clown—Greg Gutfeld?—he wants to call me out? He sits behind a desk surrounded by laugh tracks and fake outrage, and he thinks he’s the voice of rebellion?” Stern said, his voice rising with frustration. “I’ve been in this business longer than that guy’s been out of college. Don’t talk to me about selling out. I changed because the world changed.”
Stern went on to defend his evolution, stating that he’s grown as a broadcaster and a person. “You can’t be 70 and still act like a 25-year-old DJ surrounded by strippers and fart jokes,” he added. “Well, unless you’re Greg Gutfeld trying to cosplay as edgy.”
The war of words quickly went viral. Fans and critics alike flooded Twitter and Reddit with reactions, many split between supporting Stern’s right to evolve and siding with Gutfeld’s blunt criticism. The hashtag #HowardVsGutfeld began trending, and media personalities weighed in, calling it the latest front in the ongoing cultural battle between conservative and liberal media icons.

Political analyst Jenna Cooper noted, “This isn’t just about two media figures trading insults. It’s about two very different approaches to influence—Stern has become more introspective and politically cautious, while Gutfeld leans into satire and sharp-edged commentary.”
For now, neither side shows signs of backing down. Gutfeld fired back again in a follow-up episode, doubling down on his remarks. “I’m not going to apologize for noticing the obvious,” he said. “The Howard Stern of today is barely recognizable.”
While it remains to be seen whether the feud will escalate further, one thing is clear: the ideological and generational gap between two of America’s most recognizable media personalities has created a headline-grabbing showdown that’s as much about culture as it is about ego.
