I Got CALLED OUT in Diana Taurasi’s Doc, Indiana Fever Sign New PG, and Another WNBA Fight Breaks Out
The WNBA is giving fans no shortage of drama this week, with headline after headline shaking up the league. From a personal callout in Diana Taurasi’s new documentary to a major roster move by the Indiana Fever — and yet another on-court fight — here’s everything you missed (and probably shouldn’t have).
Diana Taurasi’s Doc: Who She Called Out — and Why
In her brand-new documentary “White Mamba: The Diana Taurasi Story”, the WNBA legend doesn’t hold back — especially when it comes to media critics and online personalities who she says have “never dribbled a ball but have the loudest opinions.”
And yes — I got called out.
In a segment discussing the evolution of media coverage in women’s basketball, Taurasi mentions a few specific content creators by name and calls others “click-hungry” for feeding narratives that pit players against each other for views.
“Some of these people don’t care about the game — they care about conflict. That’s not basketball, that’s YouTube drama,” Taurasi says in the doc.
The moment has gone viral on WNBA Twitter/X, with fans split between defending Taurasi’s brutally honest takes and defending independent media’s role in growing the sport.
To be clear: No hard feelings, Diana. But you did say my name with some heat. Respectfully… that’s a badge of honor.
Fever Sign New Point Guard Amid Caitlin Clark’s Absence
Meanwhile, over in Indiana, the Fever have made a surprise mid-season move by signing 26-year-old point guard Chelsea Hall to a short-term contract, sources confirmed today.
With Caitlin Clark still sidelined due to a groin injury, and backup PG Erica Wheeler struggling with consistency, the Fever acted fast to bring in fresh support at the 1-spot.
Hall, a Vanderbilt and Louisville alum, had been playing overseas in Spain before getting the call from Indiana’s front office.
“I’m ready to help however I can,” Hall said in her first interview. “This is a fast team with big ambitions — I’m just here to contribute.”
No word yet on how much playing time she’ll get, but expect Hall to step into a reserve role immediately as the Fever continue their playoff push.
Another WNBA Fight Breaks Out — This Time in L.A.
Tempers flared again in the WNBA last night, this time in Los Angeles, where Sparks forward Azurá Stevens and Dallas Wings guard Arike Ogunbowale got into a heated exchange that escalated to a shoving match in the final minutes of the fourth quarter.
After a hard foul on a drive to the basket, Arike and Stevens exchanged words, then shoves — prompting benches to clear and officials to step in. Both were hit with technicals, but no ejections were issued.
The league is expected to review the footage and may issue fines or suspensions in the coming days.
“It’s passion, plain and simple,” said Wings coach Latricia Trammell. “But we have to channel it the right way.”
With tensions running high, playoff races heating up, and cameras always rolling, the WNBA continues to deliver the most unfiltered drama in professional sports — and we’re all here for it.
