Kanye West Unleashes Explosive Claims Against Kardashian Family in New Documentary
In a raw and emotionally charged new documentary titled In Whose Name?, Kanye West offers an unfiltered glimpse into the most chaotic years of his life — exposing deeply personal battles with mental health, fame, family, and his highly publicized fallout with the Kardashian clan.
Directed by longtime collaborator Nico Ballesteros, the documentary is compiled from over 3,000 hours of footage filmed between 2018 and 2024, much of it captured on iPhones. The result is a brutally honest self-portrait that doesn’t shy away from controversy — instead, it leans into it, particularly when it comes to West’s deteriorating relationship with his ex-wife Kim Kardashian and her family.
One of the most intense moments in the film shows West in a heated confrontation with Kris Jenner, the Kardashian family matriarch. Visibly emotional and angry, Kanye accuses Jenner and her family of stripping him of his masculinity and contributing to his mental breakdowns. “You’ve demasculated me,” he says. “I would rather be dead than be on medication.” The line has since gone viral online, fueling debates around mental health and celebrity exploitation.

Jenner, caught off guard by the outburst, responds through tears, telling West that she still loves him and that she wants her daughter Kim to love him “the way you want her to.” The exchange is one of several scenes where the documentary captures the human side of a family often portrayed as a polished media empire.
The film also features an emotionally raw phone call between West and Kim Kardashian from 2018. In the recording, Kim warns Kanye that he might “wake up one day with nothing” if he continues down his self-destructive path — a warning he refuses to accept. Later in the film, Kim appears on camera visibly distressed, saying, “Your personality wasn’t like this a few years ago.” Her words underscore the emotional toll their marriage—and Kanye’s personal transformation—has taken on both of them.

Beyond family drama, In Whose Name? dives into Kanye’s public unraveling: his failed 2020 presidential bid, loss of major brand deals, and backlash over antisemitic comments. It also shows glimpses of his interactions with other celebrities like Elon Musk, Pharrell Williams, and Drake, providing a broader context of how fame, power, and pressure shaped his descent.
Despite its chaos, the documentary never offers a clear judgment. Instead, it raises questions: Who is truly responsible for Kanye’s downfall? Is he a victim of the media and those closest to him, or is he ultimately accountable for his own actions? The title In Whose Name? reflects that ambiguity, leaving viewers to interpret the story on their own.
Premiering in select U.S. theaters on September 19, 2025, the film is already making headlines for its intimate access and explosive revelations. As fans and critics debate its meaning, one thing is certain: Kanye West is not done telling his story — on his own terms.
