Alexis Ohanian surprised his followers by sharing an emotional post.
The husband of tennis legend Serena Williams, has used his official accounts to show how important his family is, and this time was no exception.
Serena Williams gets “wrecked” by her daughters during an amateur makeup session at home
Despite showing his adventures with his wife and two daughters –Olympia and Adira, 7 and 1 year old respectively- this publication has transcended by a very special detail.
A few years ago, in 2008, his mother Anke Ohanian died of glioblastoma, a severe and rapidly progressive type of brain cancer. She was only 54 years old.
However, the Reddit co-founder who is known for his bond with technology and the modernization behind his invention, capitalized on it to bring back and embrace his mother again.
Technology sparks emotion in Ohanian
On X (formerly Twitter), the 42-year-old entrepreneur used Artificial Intelligence to bring to life one of his cherished photographs with his mother. In it, they pose in front of the camera embracing, at a time when they didn’t have video cameras to capture the movement of that affectionate gesture.
“Damn, I wasn’t ready for how this would feel. We didn’t have a camcorder, so there’s no video of me with my mom. I dropped one of my favorite photos of us in midjourney as ‘starting frame for an AI video’ and wow…. This is how she hugged me. I’ve rewatched it 50 times.”
The post was quickly flooded with reactions. Some of his followers shared their own experience with the AI, mimicking Ohanian. Others, merely commented on the emotional sequence shared by the entrepreneur.
“We are putting people on full custom journey from one photo. We’re using our powers for Good” commented one of them, “AI is not replacing us. It’s making us feel more human,” reflected another, “This is what AI is really good for! Thanks for sharing,” said another.
Undoubtedly, Alexis Ohanian’s post makes clear not only his interest in technology and innovation, but also his love for his family.
