The judge had issued an emergency injunction, freezing all of Elliot’s assets until the matter was resolved.

Elliot’s mind spun. He remembered the heated arguments, the emails he’d ignored, the letters marked “urgent” he’d tossed aside. He’d thought himself untouchable, above petty disputes. Now, he was locked out of his fortune.
