Former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi is speaking out after Amy Poehler’s viral Saturday Night Live impression of her lit up social media following the show’s October 11 episode.
In the cold open, Poehler — serving as the evening’s host — portrayed Bondi during a mock Senate Judiciary Committee hearing. Her version of Bondi faced relentless questioning about her interactions with the President, responding with tongue-in-cheek lines like:
“I’m not going to tell you who said what, or who fell asleep mid-sentence, or who kept calling me Ivanka while patting his lap.”
Poehler was joined by Tina Fey, who made a surprise appearance as Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, turning the skit into a comedic showdown of political doubles. Fey’s Noem delivered her entrance line with trademark sass:
“I spell my name with an I ‘cause that’s how I thought it was spelled. And I’m the rarest kind of person in Washington — a brunette that Donald Trump listens to.”
The skit also referenced one of Noem’s most controversial real-life moments — her 2024 memoir confession that she had shot and killed her puppy, calling it “untrainable and aggressive.” In the sketch, Poehler and Fey turned that into a darkly comic jab:
“That makes me laugh more than the end of Old Yeller. When the dog gets shot—”
“Dogs don’t just get shot. Heroes shoot them.”
Later, the bit shifted into a fake recruitment ad for ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement), parodying over-the-top law enforcement bravado:
“Do you take supplements you bought at a gas station? Do you like using zip ties because no one trusts you with keys? Then buckle up and slap on some Oakleys, big boy. Welcome to ICE.”
Pam Bondi Gives Her Seal of Approval
Rather than taking offense, Pam Bondi seemed to embrace the joke. On X (formerly Twitter), she posted a photo of Poehler’s impersonation, tagging Kristi Noem with a lighthearted caption:
“@SECNOM should we recreate this picture in Chicago? Loving Amy Poehler!”
Her response suggested good humor and perhaps even appreciation for Poehler’s take — a refreshing reaction in today’s often polarized political climate.
DHS Joins the Conversation
The Department of Homeland Security also chimed in, reposting part of the sketch — specifically the faux ICE commercial — but trimming out the punchlines. Their caption read:
“Thanks for the free advertisement, @NBCSNL. Get criminals out. Make history. Save America.”
The tongue-in-cheek acknowledgment seemed to blur the line between parody and propaganda — a meta twist that SNL itself might have appreciated.

Poehler and Fey: Comedy’s Political Dream Team
The episode marked yet another collaboration between Amy Poehler and Tina Fey, who over the years have become SNL’s most iconic political duo. Fans still remember their legendary portrayals of Hillary Clinton (Poehler) and Sarah Palin (Fey), which helped define an entire era of political comedy.
With this latest skit, the two reaffirmed their unmatched chemistry — blending satire, sharp political commentary, and absurd humor into one unforgettable moment that once again proves: no one lampoons Washington quite like Saturday Night Live.
