Charlie Kirk Fatally Sh0.t While Answering Question About Transgender Sh0.0ters at Utah Valley University

Charlie Kirk, a prominent conservative activist and founder of Turning Point USA, was sh0t and killed Wednesday during a live event at Utah Valley University. Witnesses say Kirk was in the middle of answering a question about transgender shooters when the fatal incident occurred.

Reporters Emma Pitts and Eva Terry of Deseret News described the scene, saying a student approached Kirk with a question about the number of transgender shooters. “Charlie gave him a comment, and then the student asked one more question—about shooters,” they recalled. “Before Charlie could pick up the mic again, that’s when the shot happened.”

Another witness noted the timing, calling it “interesting” that Kirk was shot immediately after addressing whether transgender individuals should be allowed to own firearms. “And then boom,” the witness said.

Former Utah Rep. Jason Chaffetz, who attended the event with his family, told Fox News that Kirk spoke of his faith in his final moments. “I want his wife and the country to know that the last thing he talked about was the love of Jesus Christ and the power of prayer,” Chaffetz said. “He spoke from his heart, and you could feel it. I’m so mad that this happened.”

The shooting reportedly occurred about ten minutes into the event. Pitts and Terry said they heard the gunshot, which struck the left side of Kirk’s neck, causing him to collapse. “We saw blood immediately,” they said. “It felt like so much blood came out of his neck, and then we all took to the ground.” The atmosphere, previously upbeat and excited, turned chaotic as attendees rushed for cover.

As the investigation continues, speculation about the shooter’s motive has emerged. An MSNBC guest suggested that the gunfire could have been a supporter firing in celebration, though no evidence currently supports this theory. “We don’t know if this was a supporter shooting their gun off in celebration,” the guest told anchor Katy Tur.

FBI Director Kash Patel announced on X (formerly Twitter) that a suspect was taken into custody following the shooting. “Thank you to the local and state authorities in Utah for your partnership with @fbi,” Patel wrote. However, Patel later updated that the person of interest had been released after interrogation, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Charlie Kirk was 31 years old. His death has sent shockwaves through the conservative community and beyond, with tributes pouring in from political leaders and supporters nationwide.
