The Real Housewives of Potomac star Wendy Osefo and her husband Edward Osefo have reportedly been arrested on multiple fraud-related charges, Access Hollywood has confirmed.
According to court documents obtained by the outlet, Wendy faces 16 total charges — including seven felonies and nine misdemeanors — such as making false statements to an officer. Her husband Edward faces 18 charges, consisting of nine felonies and nine misdemeanors.
The couple was taken into custody on Thursday and later released on bond Friday morning, per the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities say the charges stem from a burglary report the pair filed in April 2024. At the time, Wendy and Edward allegedly told police that while they were on vacation, approximately 80 luxury items — reportedly worth over $200,000 — had been stolen from their home.
However, investigators claim the story began to unravel during their investigation. Detectives reportedly discovered that over $20,000 worth of the supposedly stolen items had been returned to stores by the owners themselves.
Even more damaging, police allege that photos surfaced of Wendy wearing jewelry she had previously claimed was stolen — after the reported burglary took place.
Access Hollywood has reached out to the couple’s representatives for comment, but no response has been received yet.
The arrest comes shortly after another RHOP headline — the recent prison release of Wendy’s co-star Karen Huger, who served six months for back-to-back DUI offenses.
Interestingly, Access Hollywood’s Housewives Nightcap podcast had just interviewed Wendy a week before her arrest. When asked whether she’d be open to Karen returning to the show following her release, Wendy answered thoughtfully:
“I think that’s up to her. That’s her story to tell. If she wants to come back and share it, absolutely. I’ve never been opposed to anyone returning — that’s not who I am. And honestly, it’s above my pay grade. Whoever walks through those doors, I welcome them with open arms.”
