As the son of US president Donald Trump starts his college journey at NYU’s Stern School of Business, it is impossible for those around Barron to not notice the presence of the Secret Service

Barron Trump is already a well-known fixture on campus thanks to blacked out SUVs, and being accompanied by US Secret Service agents – some of whom are dressed as students in an effort to protect the president’s youngest child. Barron’s enrolment at the institution has already evoked a strong sense of curiosity from others around the freshman, with some even suggesting he is having a hard time in college.

The six foot seven son of arguably the most powerful man in the world stands out like a sore thumb as he navigates the college campus.

According to Unilad, Barron’s bodyguards have ditched their usual aviator’s and suits for hoodies and backpacks – in an effort to fit in at the school – but few are fooled by the charade.

He does not attend the school’s canteen to eat and rarely is seen at social events but that doesn’t mean Barron isn’t one of the most talked about people at NYU.

Many see the efforts to protect Barron as excessive – with The Economic Times reporing that they follow him into bathrooms to ensure he is safe at all times.

It has led to questions asking where the blurred line is drawn between protecting Barron and impeding on his existence too far.

His movements aren’t just watched closely by his protectors but also by many students who seem to find the situation amusing.

Kaya Walker, a former president of the NYU College Republicans Charter who drew criticism for calling Barron’s college experience “weird” stepped down from her position due to backlash. Barron has also reportedly received female attention with some saying he is handsome and tall but lamenting that he is rarely around to talk to or for people to get to know Trump’s son.

Instead, Barron seems happier playing online video games with friends – particularly FIFA – or supporting his favorite soccer team – Arsenal. The US president seems determined to ensure his son receives a solid college education complete with the experience of attending a school in person – even if that means bodyguards lurking outside of bathroom stalls.
