The 30-year-old signal-caller said he was excited to hear “The Life of a Showgirl.” But quite frankly, Mahomes might want to preview the tracklist first.

Swift released her 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” on October 3. The timing seemed too perfect to be random because a few days ago, she walked away from the Super Bowl 60 halftime show.

According to reports, the pop icon created the album during the European leg of the Eras Tour in 2024. She described it as a vibrant project, departing from the darker tone of “The Tortured Poets Department.”

Early reviews are quite positive; even Mahomes sounded very optimistic. Speaking on 96.5 The Fan, he shared his excitement to hear the album soon and wanted it to blare through their facility.

He told the radio station(H/T the Daily Mail), “It will be blaring all through the Chiefs facility tomorrow. We will be supporting Taylor. She has put in so much hard work into this, and I am excited to hear the album, just like everybody else.”

Noble intentions from the three-time Super Bowl champ, but there’s just one problem.

One track named “Wood” contains her most sexual lyrics yet about Kelce, including references to his “new heights of manhood,” which is a clear nod to the tight end’s podcast.

Look at this line, like “His love was the key that opened my thighs” or “The curse on me was broken by your magic wand.” The song visibly celebrates their romance after Swift’s past romantic struggles, using “wood” as a double entendre.

The provocative lyrics reference how Kelce broke her losing streak with men. Everyone immediately caught the intimate nature of the track. So, playing it on loop at practice would make watching game footage super awkward.

But Travis Kelce Already Vibing With Taylor Swift’s New Album

The tight end likely isn’t sweating the spicy content. Kelce praised “The Life of a Showgirl” before its drop.

He said, “I keep listening to this album, and I know she mentioned that it’s gonna be a lot more pop beats and everything. But it’s still so poetic. Her melodies, her references. It’s so much fun to listen to, I’ve been dancing all throughout the house.”

It seems like he’s cool with Swift going public about their private life. The All-Pro seems locked in on the music itself. But the track “Wood” is in no way suitable to run in a loop in the Chiefs’ facility.

However, the album became Spotify’s most pre-saved record ever and the most-streamed album in a single day in 2025. Whether “Wood” gets regular rotation at Chiefs HQ remains to be seen. Smart money says they skip that one during team meetings.
