The celebration was centered around a delicate, half-eaten cake when Finn, his eyes still shining, began doing the mental math.

“Two months,” he murmured, gently placing a hand on Steffy’s still-flat stomach. “That puts conception right around… the end of October. Wait.”

“It was in Europe, Finn,” she whispered, the words sounding like shattered glass. “During that trip to oversee the new European collection launch. It happened after the launch party. I—I made a mistake.”

Steffy collapsed onto a nearby sofa, burying her face in her hands. “It was after the Milan show. Everyone was celebrating. I was lonely, I was missing you so much, and I was drinking… too much. And then I saw him. And it just… happened.”

“Him?!” Finn roared, the normally calm, controlled doctor transforming into a man consumed by betrayal. “You have a name, Steffy! Tell me who fathered my child!”

Steffy slowly lifted her head, her face pale, her eyes filled with shame and resignation.

Steffy pleaded with her eyes. “Hope, it wasn’t planned! It was one night! A weakness!”

“A weakness you always seem to fall into with my husband!” Hope retorted, turning to Finn, her voice softening with pity. “Finn, I am so sorry. This is… monstrous.”

Finn, however, was past the point of hearing anyone. The world was deafeningly silent to him. He was not just betrayed by his wife; he was betrayed by the man he had considered a friend and a co-parent to Kelly.

He stumbled out of the living room and into the hallway, the walls of the mansion closing in on him. Ridge followed, his anger momentarily overridden by concern for his son-in-law.

“Finn, wait! You need to calm down,” Ridge urged.

Finn whirled around, his eyes red-rimmed and wild. “Calm down, Ridge?! She’s pregnant with Liam’s child! The one man who has always been between us! Our sacred trust is gone!”

“Liam is a user, a leech who can’t commit!” Ridge spat, his old resentment for Liam flaring. “Steffy made a terrible mistake. But you love her, Finn! Don’t let this destroy ‘Sinn’!”

“‘Sinn’ is already destroyed, Ridge,” Finn said, his voice flat with finality. “This isn’t just a mistake; it’s a consequence. A consequence I have to look at for the rest of my life. I cannot raise Liam Spencer’s child while married to his mother. I just can’t.”

Chapter 4: The Showdown

News travels faster than light in the Forrester/Spencer universe. Within the hour, Liam arrived, dragged there by a distraught Hope, who was now demanding answers and threatening to end their marriage once and for all.

Liam looked sickly, the guilt evident on his face. He found Steffy alone in the garden, staring blankly at the rose bushes.

Liam straightened up, genuinely ashamed. “Finn, I am so sorry. It was a mistake. I was stressed about Hope, Steffy was upset, we were both drinking…”

“STOP MAKING EXCUSES!” Finn roared, finally losing control. He lunged, grabbing Liam’s shirt collar. “You didn’t just ruin one marriage, Liam! You ruined two! You will be a father, but you will not have my wife!”

Before Ridge could intervene, Finn shoved Liam backward, sending him stumbling into a fountain. Soaking wet and shaken, Liam looked up at Finn, seeing the absolute breakdown of a good man.

Steffy watched the chaos, realizing the terrifying extent of the damage. Her one night of weakness, fueled by loneliness and wine, hadn’t just produced a child; it had set off an emotional earthquake that threatened to crumble the foundations of the most powerful families in Los Angeles.
