Cleveland Cavaliers are reportedly listening and open-minded about trading their star guard, Darius Garland.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are reportedly open to the idea of trading All-Star guard Darius Garland this offseason.

According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, the Cavaliers are “listening and open-minded” about the possibility of moving the 25-year-old star—if the right deal comes along.

“I think there’s some belief that Darius Garland might be available under the right circumstances,” Windhorst said on ESPN Cleveland. “I think the Cavs are listening and open-minded.”

Garland turned in another strong season for Cleveland, averaging 20.6 points, 6.7 assists, and 2.9 rebounds per game. He was selected to his second All-Star Game and helped lead the Cavaliers to a league-best 64-18 record and the top seed in the Eastern Conference.

Garland is entering the third year of a five-year, $197 million contract, with a salary of over $39 million for the upcoming season.

With the team projected to be roughly $15 million above the second luxury tax apron, Cleveland may need to make significant roster decisions.

Garland’s sizable contract, and the financial flexibility a trade could offer, may factor heavily into any offseason moves.
