Angel Reese SNAPS After Reporter Brings Up Her Controversial Comment About Caitlin Clark — The Press Room Fell Silent as the WNBA Star Fired Back With a Blistering Response. What She Said Next Sparked a Social Media Firestorm and Left Reporters Reeling.

Chicago Sky star Angel Reese quickly shut down a reporter’s question about Caitlin Clark ahead of their highly-anticipated clash on Saturday.

The rivalry between the two stars dates back to their time in college, when Angel Reese led the LSU Tigers to a blowout win over Caitlin Clark’s Iowa Hawkeyes in the 2023 national championship game.
In the waning seconds of that contest, Reese taunted Clark with John Cena’s signature “You can’t see me” gesture. Clark used that very gesture earlier in the tournament.
Last June, Angel Reese made headlines when she told reporters that people aren’t only watching women’s basketball because of one player (Caitlin Clark), but because of her as well.
A reporter brought up those comments during his question to Reese, but Chicago’s sophomore standout shut it down with the good ol’ “Next question” response.
Caitlin Clark indeed played a monumental role in the WNBA’s surging popularity last year. The league announed a 48 percent increase in attendance last year, with 22 regular season games averaging at least one million viewers.

Clark averaged 19.2 points, 5.7 rebounds and 8.4 assists per game during her rookie season, earning WNBA All-Star, WNBA Rookie of the Year and All-WNBA First Team honors.

The rivalry between Clark and Reese will be renewed on Saturday when the Sky and Indiana Fever meet on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. EST on ESPN. The two clubs will meet again in Windy City on June 7.

Though most of the rookie spotlight fell on Clark, Angel Reese also put together a remarkable rookie season of her own with averages of 13.6 points, 13.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game.
Reese briefly set the WNBA single-season record and finished the year with 446, but a season-ending wridt injury allowed A’ja Wilson to set the new record with 551.
