Breaking: NBA launches Internal Investigation of Referee in Warriors’ Game 2 Against Rockets Following ‘Allegations of Conflict of interest and Game Integrity’…
The first round of the NBA playoffs is underway, and every series being played is at least two games deep.
The Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets squared off for the second time on Wednesday night.
The Warriors suffered a 109-94 loss in the second game in Houston before heading back to the Bay Area.
It was another physical, hard-fought game between the two sides, with many drawing comparisons to the 1980s era of basketball.
The Rockets, coming away with a 109-94 win, saw Jalen Green have a massive bounce-back game, scoring 38 points on 13-of-25 shooting.
Golden State only got 20 points on 6-of-15 shooting from Stephen Curry, as he was dealing with hefty contact from the defense.
The superstar guard only got help from Jimmy Butler for eight minutes, too, as the star forward suffered a pelvic contusion that saw him exit the game for good.
There was one pivotal moment that enraged Warriors fans. As the team was aiming to mount a comeback, the Rockets won a jump ball, though Alperen Sengun committed a blatant missed backcourt call.
This, of course, had Golden State fans upset, calling for the referees to be investigated.
There were many moments where physicality was ignored, which was the referees essentially setting the tone and letting the two sides play.
A missed backcourt call, however, could have swung the momentum of the game and is a bit more technical than some contact between players.
“investigate the refs,” one fan said.
Following these calls, An internal investigation has been launched into a referee who officiated Game 2 between the Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets, as announced by the NBA. The probe follows revelations linking the official to a Spanish betting company, raising concerns over potential conflicts of interest and game integrity. The Warriors fell 109-94 to the Rockets in Houston on Wednesday night, evening the playoff series at 1-1. While no official statement has been made regarding possible misconduct during the game, league sources confirm that the NBA is treating the matter seriously. Further updates are expected as the investigation progresses.
