Ex MLB Player Trashes Chiefs’ Mahomes’ Family

Former MLB Player John Rocker and Patrick Mahomes Sr. got into it at the Super Bowl back in February. That beef had since died down until Rocker called out the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback and his family.

Super Bowl LIX unraveled on the Kansas City Chiefs before they could gain their footing. A 40-22 difference saw the Philadelphia Eagles blast the defending champions in impressive fashion.

That dreadful Sunday brought more unfortunate distraction for the AFC Champs between the Taylor Swift boos and further derision of Travis Kelce’s celebrity girlfriend from President Donald Trump.

But another scrum behind the scenes caused additional frustration. A staged brawl between Patrick Mahomes Sr. and former MLB player John Rocker went viral. This beef between Mahomes Sr. and the former major league pitcher carried over after Super Bowl Sunday.

That altercation set the stage for a brawl backed in promotion by Barstool Sports that was supposed to occur on April 18… until Patrick Mahomes and his camp stepped in to put a stop to it.

On the day of that scheduled clash, Rocker took to X, not only calling out Mahomes, but his wife Brittany as well.

“Today is the day I was supposed to fight Pat Mahomes Sr.,” Rocker said.

“Instead of fighting today he backed out like a little [expletive] because his son and his loser wife decided it’d be a bad look to the family name for him to get in the ring.”

Rocker has been a controversial figure in the baseball world for some time and frankly this odd interaction brought him back into the public eye for the first time in a while. Perhaps he feels robbed of that spotlight after Mahomes’ family took action.

Regardless, trashing the Mahomes family for dispelling an event that most in a niche audience had already forgotten about makes for a pretty weak stance on his part.

Rocker is not the first to call out the Mahomes family nor will he be the last. But there is not much controversy to be had here and people will be quick to forget about this fad as soon as this weekend.
