Taylor Swift can’t get all the credit for the massive success of her song “Fortnight,” which features fellow music icon Post Malone.
The fans played a significant role in the track’s rise to glory, which includes multiple Grammy Award nominations. What makes the success of “Fortnight” so unique is how Swift and her team leveraged the support from the fans to spread the word on the 2024 single, which is off of her “The Tortured Poets Department” album.
Swift did this by launching a highly successful global campaign that included the “For a Fortnight Challenge” on YouTube Shorts. Swifties from across the globe were required to work together to solve a puzzle, which ultimately unlocked several behind-the-scenes videos from Swift.
The campaign was such a success that it recently bagged two wins at The Webby Awards for its innovative and highly effective marketing approach. The “For a Fortnight Challenge” has now been nominated again, this time at the upcoming 2025 Shorty Awards.
The Shorty Awards, which is an international award-giving body that recognizes outstanding work in digital and social media, recently announced that Swift’s “For a Fortnight Challenge” was included in the list of finalists for Best User-Generated Content.
Fan votes determine the winner of The Shorty Awards, which is why Swifties are now being prompted to act immediately by casting their votes.
The voting concludes on Wednesday, which adds even more urgency for Swifties here. She is currently up against the likes of Verizon’s Couch Cam, YouTube’s Lego Festival and World of Warcraft’s crowdsourced fashion, to name a few.
The 17th annual Shorty Awards will take place on May 17 at the Tribeca Rooftop + 360° in New York City. It is interesting to note that Swift has an apartment in the luxurious NYC neighborhood.
