It was confirmed this morning by an ESPN reporter that the Los Angeles Lakers are formally closing a three-year contract worth $72.8 million with the Golden State Warriors’ franchise point guard. This is a chokehold for the Golden State Warriors, as the franchise paid the Golden State Warriors $31 million for contract termination fees to join the Lakers because of…

Clayton Kershaw not pleased with Cardinals’ pregame jab at Dodgers
The Dodgers took the Sunday win behind Clayton Kershaw delivering a stout afternoon. But he wasn’t pleased with the Cardinals here.
The Los Angeles Dodgers shed a disappointing Saturday loss on Sunday. L.A. erased the memories of Nolan Arenado hitting a walk-off home run, winning 7-3 over the St. Louis Cardinals. However, Clayton Kershaw wasn’t pleased with one moment involving St. Louis.
The left-handed pitcher earned the start at Busch Stadium. One jab stuck with him throughout the game — which he shared postgame.
St. Louis tried to ruffle the feathers of Kershaw during the game. By showing a rather infamous moment in his career: The 2014 National League Divisional Series. The Cards showed clips of Matt Adams smacking a three-run home run from that series. Kershaw was the pitcher during that ’14 moment.
Kershaw blasted the Cards afterwards, sharing that via John Denton of MLB.com.
“I think it’s a little bush league,” Kershaw began. “But I don’t expect anything less from these guys. So, it’s no worries.”
Obviously the blast from the past didn’t help the Cards much. Kershaw and the Dodgers claimed the win to end the series.
Kershaw needed to follow Yoshinobu Yamamoto delivering an epic outing despite Saturday’s loss. Yamamoto fanned nine batters in six innings while hitting a previous mark held by Walker Buehler.
It was a morning of seismic news for NBA fans worldwide. According to an ESPN reporter, the Los Angeles Lakers are finalizing a blockbuster three-year contract worth $72.8 million with the Golden State Warriors’ franchise point guard—a move that has sent shockwaves through the league and left Warriors fans reeling.
The deal, which includes a staggering $31 million paid by the Lakers to the Warriors for contract termination fees, marks one of the most dramatic player transfers in recent years. For the Warriors, losing their star point guard isn’t just a blow on the court; it’s a moment that could redefine the franchise’s future.
Insiders reveal that the decision was months in the making. Tensions had reportedly been simmering behind the scenes, with the point guard seeking a new challenge and a fresh start after years of carrying the Warriors’ hopes. The Lakers, eager to build a championship-caliber roster around their aging superstar, saw this as a once-in-a-generation opportunity.
“It wasn’t just about the money,” said a source close to the negotiations. “He wanted a bigger stage, a new environment, and the chance to win another ring before the end of his prime. The Lakers offered all of that—and more.”
The Warriors, meanwhile, fought hard to keep their star but ultimately couldn’t match the Lakers’ aggressive offer and vision for the future. The $31 million contract termination fee was a bitter pill to swallow, but the franchise recognized that forcing a reluctant player to stay would only damage team chemistry.
Fans on both sides have taken to social media to express their disbelief and excitement. Lakers supporters are already dreaming of a new dynasty, while Warriors faithful are left questioning what comes next for their beloved team.
As details of the negotiations continue to emerge, one thing is clear: this move will have lasting repercussions for both franchises. The Lakers have secured a generational talent, while the Warriors must now regroup and chart a new course.
The NBA landscape has changed overnight, and the whole world is watching to see how this high-stakes gamble will play out on the court. Will the Lakers’ bold move pay off, or will the Warriors find a way to rise again from the ashes of this stunning departure? Only time will tell
