NFL Players Who HATE Patrick Mahomes
“The NFL’s Patrick Mahomes Hate Club: A Story of Rivalries, Pettiness, and Pure Jealousy”
It turns out Patrick Mahomes isn’t just the NFL’s golden boy — he’s also the league’s number one villain in the eyes of many players. From trash talk and petty interviews to Christmas-ruining plays and literal threats, the list of players who hate Mahomes keeps growing, and each one seems to have their own wild reason.
Let’s start with Joey Bosa, who doesn’t just lose to Mahomes — he can’t even watch him. When Netflix released its Quarterback documentary featuring Mahomes, Bosa refused to watch it, saying, “Why would I want to watch my rival be great?” The hate goes back to games where Mahomes dominated Bosa’s team — so badly that Bosa once even tried to injure him.
But if Bosa just avoids Mahomes on screen, Jamar Chase lives in a constant state of Mahomes-fueled pettiness. After Mahomes beat his Bengals in the AFC Championship and became the NFL’s #1 ranked player, Jamar refused to even say Mahomes’ name during interviews, insisting Joe Burrow was better — even after Burrow himself admitted Mahomes was the best. The beef escalated from dodging jersey swaps to Jamar rooting against Mahomes in every interview, and memes of Chase calling Mahomes “just Kirk Cousins with a headband” spread like wildfire.
Old-school hate also found its way into the story. Legendary Cowboys QB Troy Aikman tried to downplay Mahomes’ early career, saying, “Talk to me when he has 33% of my Super Bowl titles.” Mahomes responded the best way possible: by winning Super Bowls, MVPs, and breaking records faster than Aikman ever did. And yet, Aikman kept dismissing the possibility Mahomes could pass Brady, insisting, “I’d never bet on anyone passing Brady’s numbers.”
Micah Parsons took things up a notch — lobbying the NFL to change the rules to limit Mahomes’ ability to draw penalties near the sideline. Parsons claimed Mahomes was “baiting” defenders into unnecessary roughness calls by pretending to go out of bounds. Even though Micah was technically right, it showed just how much Mahomes was changing the game — to the point where defenders were begging for nerfs.
Then came the personal attacks. During the Super Bowl, Tashaun Gipson called Mahomes “just a regular quarterback” after an interception. Mahomes’ response? Win the game, win the MVP, and repeat what Gipson said mockingly at the Chiefs’ victory parade. Mahomes’ wife Brittany even joined in on the trolling.
But Jack Jones might take the title of “Pettiest Hater.” On Christmas Day 2023, Jones picked off Mahomes, stared him down, and then pretended to give the ball to a young Chiefs fan… before yanking it away. “He’s not intimidating,” Jones later said. He even admitted he wanted to tell Mahomes “you can’t [mess] with me” during the pick-six return.
Still, no one — no one — hates Mahomes like Maxx Crosby. This man isn’t just trying to sack Mahomes. He literally said, “I’m trying to kill him every play.” Crosby has trolled Mahomes after sacks, danced in his face, and constantly pushes and punches him just to get in his head. Even worse, after Mahomes barked back saying, “I’m here all day,” Crosby and the Raiders turned it into a meme — mocking Mahomes for sounding like Kermit the Frog. Raiders players brought Kermit dolls to games, and fans showed up in full Kermit costumes. The trolling was brutal.
And just when you think it couldn’t get more personal, Ben Roethlisberger stepped in. Big Ben downplayed Mahomes’ greatness, claiming he’d still take Aaron Rodgers in his prime. Fans dragged Ben for being bitter, especially since Mahomes already has more Super Bowls than both Ben and Rodgers combined. Mahomes’ trainer clapped back, saying, “Not everyone quits working out at 30, Ben.”
Even Eli Manning got in on the fun, trolling Mahomes not with Super Bowl rings, but with… a women’s soccer championship ring. Since both own NWSL teams, and Eli’s team won first, he bragged, “Yeah, he’s got one more Super Bowl, but he doesn’t have this.”
But the most painful hate story comes from Josh Allen. Time and time again, Mahomes has crushed Allen’s Super Bowl dreams — in the playoffs, in overtime, on coin tosses. Mahomes even mocked Allen by saying his biggest fear is “a coin toss,” referencing the infamous 2022 playoff loss. Allen tried to copy The Last Dance by trash-talking Mahomes before a game… but still lost. Fans now joke that Mahomes haunts Allen’s dreams like Freddy Krueger, dubbing him “Mahomie Krueger.”
In the end, whether it’s jealousy, rivalry, or just straight-up hatred, Patrick Mahomes has become the villain in a league where he used to be the hero. But love him or hate him — you can’t ignore him. Because just like Kermit once said: “I’m here.”
