Stephen A. Smith Names ALL Celebs Involved In Floyd Mayweather Billion Dollar Scam
When you consider pay-per-view sales, the money Floyd Mayweather has made, and how he gives lessons on making money outside of boxing—marketing his brand and building business—there’s nobody who would even challenge him. If you’re in the NFT world and you bet on him, he says, “You’ll never lose.” He then promotes his new NFT project called “May Revers,” claiming he’s been working on it for months, and insists, “If I win, you win.” Money made money—Money made all day. Surrounded by millions, he invites fans to walk with him and see his lifestyle.
But Stephen A. Smith is not buying it. He went off, saying Floyd Mayweather’s billion-dollar empire isn’t what it looks like—and even accused him of running a scam. He’s dragging other celebrities into it too, naming names and saying this whole operation is built on smoke and mirrors. Floyd’s brand has always been about money: jets, cars, diamond watches, skyscrapers—but Stephen A. says it’s all an illusion.
It started with Floyd’s claim of a $42 million real estate deal where he supposedly bought 62 buildings in New York. But when reporters checked, there were no records—no deeds, no transfers, no buildings in his name. That’s when people stopped just pointing at Floyd and started questioning the celebrities he’s done business with.
This goes back years. Long before the real estate deal, Floyd was involved in other shady ventures, like the infamous Ethereum Max crypto scandal. He promoted Ethereum Max during a boxing exhibition, and Kim Kardashian pushed it to her 250 million followers. Millions of fans invested in the coin—but then the value crashed. They were accused of hyping up the coin in a classic “pump and dump” scheme, where people buy in at inflated prices and get stuck holding worthless assets. Floyd, Kim, and others were hit with a class-action lawsuit, branded one of the boldest celebrity cash grabs of the decade. Though the case was eventually dismissed due to lack of evidence, the damage to Floyd’s reputation lingered.
While Kim moved on to rebuild her brand with Skims and legal work, and Pierce Morgan returned to sports commentary, Floyd’s name stayed tied to the scandal—it fit a pattern. After crypto, Floyd upped the ante, teaming with billionaire real estate mogul Meer Orbach to buy a 10% stake in the New York Giants—valued at $700 million. People questioned how Floyd could afford such a deal. Yes, he made a fortune in boxing—but a $700 million investment? That’s billionaire territory. The partnership raised eyebrows. Floyd had the celebrity appeal, Orbach had the financial credibility, but critics said this was about clout, not cash. With Floyd tied to shaky investments like Ethereum Max, fans feared this Giants deal was another too-good-to-be-true stunt.
And this wasn’t even the most unusual partnership. Back in the 2010s, Floyd was best friends with Justin Bieber. Bieber walked Floyd out during major fights. But as Floyd’s legal troubles and scandals piled up, Bieber quietly distanced himself, leading fans to question if it was ever a real friendship—or just a branding move.
Then came DJ Khaled. Floyd and Khaled weren’t just hanging out—they were business partners, hyping crypto investments like Centra Tech. But behind the scenes, they were being paid big money to promote these products without disclosing it. In 2018, the SEC came down on both of them. Fans lost money. Floyd and Khaled walked away with the bag.
After Khaled, Floyd aligned with Lil Wayne—not for crypto, but for hype. Lil Wayne performed during Floyd’s fight walkouts, turning the ring into a concert stage. Then came Rick Ross. Floyd backed Ross during his feud with 50 Cent, and even got involved in a benefit concert to support Big Meech from BMF. Floyd and Ross hyped up their support—but when it came time to actually help Meech financially, nothing happened. It was all talk. Meech remained locked up and broke, while Floyd and Ross walked away with the spotlight.
And Floyd kept pushing the same playbook. Just when fans thought he was done with shady ventures, he circled back to real estate. In 2022, Floyd claimed on Instagram he dropped $42 million to buy 62 buildings in New York. He looked straight into the camera and said, “All the buildings belong to me. I don’t have no partners.” But again—no records, no proof, no transfers.
That’s when critics really started questioning if Floyd’s empire was all smoke and mirrors. Jake Paul constantly mocks Floyd, from calling him broke to saying he still hasn’t paid Logan Paul for their 2021 exhibition fight. Logan went public claiming Floyd owes him millions. Jake used that as ammunition—“If you’re really a billionaire, why can’t you pay my brother?”
Even respected boxing promoter Eddie Hearn got involved. He said Floyd once got so annoyed at being doubted, he pulled out a bank statement to prove his wealth. Eddie admitted the number on it was “astronomical.” But fans weren’t convinced. They saw it as another performative flex. If the money is real, why constantly prove it? Why stage every detail?
That’s why so many believe Floyd’s endless exhibition fights aren’t for fun—they’re about survival. Since officially retiring from real boxing, Floyd’s been on a global exhibition tour—light sparring matches with YouTubers and influencers, bragging about making $30 million for 10 minutes of work. But fans started to ask: if you’re worth a billion, why are you still doing this?
