Bodies of Man, Woman, and Baby Found in Berks County in Ongoing Homicide Investigation

BERKS COUNTY, Pa. — Authorities are investigating a tragic case after the bodies of a man, a woman, and a baby were discovered in separate locations throughout Berks County, Pennsylvania. The incident has shocked the local community and is now being treated as a homicide investigation.

The case began to unfold on September 13, when police in Reading responded to a call at Baer Park near River Road. There, they found the body of 31-year-old Junior Cabrera-Colon, who had suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the head. Cabrera-Colon was reported missing days before the grim discovery.

Following this, law enforcement intensified their search for two others connected to Cabrera-Colon’s household: his partner, 31-year-old Geraldina Peguero-Mancebo, and their one-year-old son, Jeyden Junior Peguero, both reported missing on September 12.

On September 19, the body of Geraldina Peguero-Mancebo was found in a grassy field near East Huller Lane in Ontelaunee Township, Berks County. A day later, on September 20, the body of her infant son Jeyden was located in a nearby marshy area, just a short distance from where his mother had been found.

Medical examiners have ruled all three deaths as homicides. While the cause of Cabrera-Colon’s death was clearly a gunshot wound, the specific causes of death for Peguero-Mancebo and her son have not yet been publicly disclosed.

Authorities revealed that Cabrera-Colon, Peguero-Mancebo, and their son were living together at the time they went missing, prompting the initial missing persons alert. The tragic discovery of all three bodies has raised numerous questions about the circumstances leading to their deaths.

A major development occurred on September 18, when 61-year-old Jose Luis Rodriguez of Reading was arrested. Police report that Rodriguez confessed to murdering Cabrera-Colon and admitted to disposing of his body near River Road. He has been charged with murder, abuse of a corpse, and related offenses. However, investigators have not yet confirmed whether Rodriguez is connected to the deaths of Peguero-Mancebo and her son.

The Reading Police Department and the Berks County District Attorney’s Office are collaborating closely on the case, conducting thorough investigations to uncover the full story behind the killings. Officials have announced plans for a press conference to provide updates as new information becomes available.
