After appearing on Wife Swap, The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Angie Katsanevas opened up about her emotional journey, personal growth, and the tense dynamic with Lisa Barlow following a recent explosive episode.

A Life-Changing “Wife Swap” Experience

When asked why she decided to join Wife Swap, Angie said she “immediately said yes,” seeing it as an opportunity to learn and grow.
Although she had no idea where she’d be sent, Angie described the adventure as “life-changing.”

“I realized you can never judge someone’s lifestyle or choices based on what you see. Everyone lives differently, and there isn’t one right way to do things,” she shared. “I also learned that I need to slow down and be more present. I was overwhelmed before going to Idaho, and that experience truly helped me reset.”

She added that the hardest part wasn’t adjusting to a new life but saying goodbye to the family she lived with.

“I still think of them almost every day. They left me a special gift that I see on my window every morning, and it reminds me of them.”

Family Reflections and Personal Growth

Angie admitted the experience also had a big impact on her marriage to Shawn Katsanevas.
As someone who tends to take on everything herself, she confessed that she rarely asks for help — often pushing herself to burnout.

“I’m not great at asking for help. I’ll just do everything myself until I’m exhausted. I think Shawn realized that through this experience, and it made him appreciate how much I juggle every day.”

The show reminded her that even the most glamorous lives can be exhausting — and that vulnerability and balance matter more than perfection.

From ‘Roughing It’ to Reality Checks

When asked what “roughing it” meant to her, Angie laughed:

“For me, ‘roughing it’ was traveling in our RV — with a TV, showers, and a little stove! This was way beyond that. Thank God I work out, because it was hard.”

She also shared that among her RHOSLC castmates, Heather Gay and Whitney Rose could handle the challenge, calling them “humble and down-to-earth.” But as for Lisa Barlow or Meredith Marks, Angie wasn’t so sure.

“I don’t think they’d last long,” she joked.

Calling Out Lisa Barlow

Angie didn’t shy away from addressing the drama with Lisa Barlow, which resurfaced in a recent episode.

“That was a tough one. A lot didn’t make it to air, but there were so many accusations about my character, my business, and my personal life. I get emotional when things aren’t based on facts — when it’s lies or rumors meant to hurt.”

Despite the tension, Angie insists she’s not afraid to face Lisa at BravoCon.

“I like to address things head-on. I’m excited to see her and get some answers — maybe even find out who the mysterious ‘soup man’ is,” she said with a laugh.

Conclusion

From a humble family exchange in Idaho to high-stakes reality TV drama, Angie Katsanevas is showing viewers a more grounded, authentic side of herself — one that values growth, truth, and balance over chaos.

“The whole experience was moving — truly moving. And I’m taking what I learned to live my life differently. Otherwise, it would’ve all been a waste.”
