BREAKING NEWS: The Kansas City Chiefs are staring down the barrel of an 0-3 start — but one New York radio host swears the NFL won’t let it happen. ESPN New York’s Don La Greca lit up the airwaves this week, claiming the league will “make sure” Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce leave MetLife with a win on Sunday Night Football.
An ESPN New York radio host believes that the NFL will do its best to make sure that the Kansas City Chiefs will not go 0-3 to start the season.
Following a defeat to the Los Angeles Chargers in Brazil to open their season and a home opening loss to the Super Bowl-rival Philadelphia Eagles, the Chiefs travel to the Meadowlands for ‘Sunday Night Football’ against the New York Giants desperately seeking their first win.
But ESPN New York’s Don La Greca believes he already knows the result of that game – in part because of the NFL not wanting to upset the Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce fanbase. On his radio show, La Greca told co-hosts Peter Rosenberg and Alan Hahn that the ‘NFL is not going to allow the Chiefs to start 0-3.’
La Greca leaned into his conspiracy belief that the Giants will not emerge victorious at home.
‘There’s too much on the line, I’m sorry,’ La Greca said on the airwaves.

The ESPN host thinks that Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s romance is behind the NFL’s thinking
‘Call me a conspiracy theorist. ESPN can fire me. The NFL is not going to allow the Kansas City Chiefs to lose that game on national television and be 0-3. What are you gonna do?
‘[Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift] are getting married later. They’re engaged.
‘I’m telling you we’re gonna sit here next Monday and we’re gonna say, I’m telling you, there’s gonna be at least three calls where we’re going to be like, how did that happen?’
The Giants haven’t gotten off to the hottest of starts either – also going 0-2 to open their season. This led Rosenberg to ask if the Chiefs would need the help of the league.
La Greca continued: ‘I’m just telling you on top of the Giants not being good, the league just won’t allow it.
‘Honestly, people, rise up. Cmon, speak our minds here. Is there any world where the NFL is going to say, “whatever we do make sure the Giants win this game.”
He added: ‘Goodell will run on the field.’
Kansas City has not opened a season 0-2 since the 2014 season – the second year of Andy Reid’s tenure. Moreover, the Chiefs haven’t begun a campaign 0-3 since 2011. That year, they fired head coach Todd Haley 13 games into the season.
This marks the first of three straight high-profile NFL games for the Chiefs. After this matchup against the Giants, they play the Baltimore Ravens in Week 4 on CBS.
Following that Ravens game is back-to-back primetime games: First, a Monday Night Football matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 5 followed by a return to Sunday Night Football against the Detroit Lions.
