Family of Virginia Roberts Giuffre Reacts to House Vote on Releasing Epstein Files

As Congress prepares to vote on releasing the Jeffrey Epstein files, the family of Virginia Roberts Giuffre — one of Epstein’s most well-known accusers — is speaking out, urging full transparency and protection for survivors.

During a recent press interaction, the President said he would sign a bill releasing the files if it passes both chambers of Congress. However, he simultaneously repeated the claim that the Epstein scandal was a “hoax” and suggested Democrats were responsible. He did not acknowledge the victims, despite the Justice Department reaffirming in July that Epstein harmed more than 1,000 victims.

Sky and Amanda Roberts Respond

Sky and Amanda Roberts, the brother and sister-in-law of Virginia Roberts Giuffre, say the President could release the documents immediately if he truly supported transparency:

Sky said the President’s shift in tone is misleading:
“He’s pushed back for so long, calling it a hoax. If he truly supported releasing the files, he could do it today.”
She added that the sudden support appears to be political repositioning:
“Maybe now he wants to say he’s been supporting this all along. But that’s not reality.”

Advocacy for All Survivors

Amanda emphasized that this vote represents a historic moment for survivors of sexual abuse and trafficking everywhere — not only Epstein’s victims:

“We see survivors. We believe them. We stand with them.”
They plan to visit Capitol Hill with other survivors to remind members of Congress why they were elected.

Both expressed sorrow that Virginia herself is no longer alive to witness this progress:
“This was everything she worked for.”

Unredacted Emails and Naming Virginia

Sky addressed recently released emails from the Epstein estate, published by House Oversight Democrats. Some emails suggested the former President “knew about the girls” or spent hours with a victim identified by Republicans as Virginia.

Sky stressed:

Virginia never accused the former President of wrongdoing.
However, that does not exclude the possibility that other survivors may come forward with different experiences.
The real concern is that these documents came from the Epstein estate — not from the DOJ’s full investigative files.

Sky criticized the committee for naming Virginia despite her death:

“It felt like a slap in the face — using her as a political tool. No survivor should be used like that.”

She also pointed out a contradiction:
Speaker Mike Johnson said names must be redacted to protect survivors — yet the committee released Virginia’s unredacted name.

Special Treatment for Ghislaine Maxwell

A whistleblower told Rep. Jamie Raskin that Ghislaine Maxwell is getting special treatment in prison and is preparing to file for commutation.

Sky reacted strongly:

“It feels icky… Our own President can’t rule out a pardon for a convicted sex trafficker.”
She expressed outrage over reports that Maxwell receives special accommodations, plays with puppies, and gets special meals.
