Kylie Kelce Opens Up About Taylor Swift’s New Album

Kylie Kelce is sharing her thoughts on Taylor Swift’s Life of a Showgirl, the pop superstar’s much-anticipated 12th studio album that dropped earlier this month.

During the October 9 episode of her Not Gonna Lie podcast, Kylie revealed her top three tracks — and her candid reaction to one song that’s stirred up quite a buzz.

“We’ve listened to Life of a Showgirl,” Kylie said, referring to herself and her four daughters — Wyatt, Elliotte, Bennett, and Finnley — whom she shares with her husband, former NFL player Jason Kelce.

“There are some bops on there, I think everybody knows. One of the songs that Ellie and I have been jamming to on the way to school is ‘Opalite’. Great song! The lyric, ‘My brother used to call it eating out of the trash’ — outstanding!”

Her Favorite Songs — and That “Wood” Moment

When asked which songs stood out the most, Kylie didn’t hesitate: “My favorites on the album are definitely ‘Wi$h LiSt,’ ‘Opalite,’ and — who are we kidding? — ‘Wood.’

Then came the part Swifties couldn’t stop talking about.

“Here’s the deal,” Kylie joked. “Do I need that much detail, specifically about my brother-in-law? Probably not. But also — good job, Trav!” she said, referring to her brother-in-law and Taylor’s fiancé, NFL star Travis Kelce.

Taylor Swift Explains How ‘Wood’ Was Born

Taylor Swift recently appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on October 6, where she shared how the cheeky, now-viral track ‘Wood’ came to life.

“I brought this into the studio and I was like, I want to do a kind of timeless, throwback-sounding song,” Swift said. “It started off super innocent — you know, the phrase ‘knock on wood,’ and all these little superstitions. And then… I don’t know what happened,” she laughed, as the audience erupted. “We started vibing and somehow ended up here — but I love it.”

The Album That’s Taking Over the Internet

Released on October 3, 2025, Life of a Showgirl marks Swift’s 12th studio album — a glittering mix of vintage pop, emotional storytelling, and bold lyricism. Swift reportedly wrote much of it while touring through Europe during her record-breaking Eras Tour.

She first teased the project back in August during a surprise appearance on Travis Kelce’s New Heights podcast, where she hinted at its old-Hollywood inspiration. Later, Travis confessed that ‘Opalite’ was his favorite track, telling his brother Jason, “Every time it comes on, I catch myself. It’s just got this vibe.”

The Meaning Behind ‘Opalite’

In an interview with Capital FM, Swift explained the creative inspiration behind the shimmering track. “I found out opalite is actually a man-made opal,” she said. “Opals are Travis’s birthstone — and one of my favorite stones, too.”

She went on to describe the song’s deeper symbolism: “I thought it was a cool metaphor — it’s man-made, just like happiness can be man-made, too. That’s what the song’s really about: the balance between what’s natural and what we create ourselves.”
