The icon surprised fans with a stunning live rendition of a Led Zeppelin classic alongside John Bonham’s sister, Deborah.
Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant, 77, has made it abundantly clear that the iconic rock group will never reunite again. It’s genuinely a heartbreaking thought. But every now and then, during Plant’s endless creative pursuits and projects, we get blessed with a 21st-century version of an iconic Zeppelin hit.
Recently, a fan posted a video of a show on August 9 where he did just that. Deborah Bonham, who is late Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham‘s sister, was performing at Fairport’s Cropredy Convention when the incomparable rocker joined her on stage to sing “Ramble On,” and it was nothing short of magical.
Fans were totally enthralled seeing the legendary song performed and praised Plant’s take on it in 2025.
“Oh, I love Robert,” gushed one fan. “Still so good-looking and brilliant singer and songwriter.”
“What an amazing experience,” noted another.
There were also throngs of comments begging the Golden God to do one more Led Zeppelin tour. (P.S. I am personally unashamed to say I share their desperate plea as well.)
Deborah, who was just 6 years old when Led Zeppelin formed, began recording demos at Plant’s home at just 17 years old. In 1985, she sent out her songs anonymously, at Plant’s recommendation, and landed a record deal with European label Carerre Records. Plant really served as a mentor to her and made sure she stood on her own.
“He did say, and I think this was a very important thing for me throughout my career, ‘What are you going to do about the name? Because you’re going to get everyone to come after you.’ Because I was young and looked good then and all of that, he said, ‘You’re going to have all these people come after you, and it’s all going to be Zeppelin-related,’” Deborah said once on the Rock n Blues Experience podcast of the advice he gave her.
As a result, she has released a handful of records and has played with some of rock’s most iconic figureheads on her own accord. However, Plant has never left her floundering out in the ocean alone. He’s routinely shown up at several of her shows throughout the years and occasionally agrees to hop onstage to perform old Zeppelin hits.
