After nearly 200 years as a rolling symbol of regal tradition, the British Royal Train—closely associated with the monarchy since the days of Queen Victoria—will make its final journey, as decided by King Charles III.

In an official announcement on June 30th, Buckingham Palace confirmed that King Charles III has approved the use of two helicopters for the Royal Family’s travels, effectively ending the operation of the historic nine-carriage train. The Royal Treasurer hailed this as a move toward “financial discipline,” highlighting the King’s commitment to prudent management of public funds and a forward-looking approach to royal expenditures.
