Chilling New Video Emerges in Charlie Kirk Shooting Investigation: FBI Closes In on Suspect
The hunt for the assassin who gunned down conservative commentator Charlie Kirk has taken a dramatic turn, as newly released surveillance footage is giving the FBI and local police their most direct lead yet.
A Nation in Shock
The shocking news of Kirk’s shooting has reverberated across the country, sparking outrage and sorrow from all sides of the political spectrum. Even Joe Rogan, live on air, reacted with disbelief and grief:
“Murder for having a different opinion from somebody else… Nobody deserves that.”
Despite deep political divisions, voices from both the left and right have united to condemn the violence, underscoring the basic democratic principle that public engagement should never be met with fear or brutality.

Critical Footage: The Suspect on the Run
Today, the FBI released a chilling video obtained by TMZ, showing a man dressed in all black walking through a residential neighborhood in Oram, Utah—just minutes before Kirk was shot on the nearby Utah Valley University campus. Investigators noted the suspect’s odd gait, speculating he may have been concealing a bolt-action rifle under his clothing.
The timestamp on the footage places the suspect just three minutes before he arrived at the campus, tightening the timeline around the attack. Even more unsettling, another camera later captured a figure in black sprinting through a backyard, apparently fleeing the scene after shots rang out and panic swept the campus.
Authorities have since recovered a Mauser 306 bolt-action rifle in a wooded area near the campus, supporting the theory that the man in the video is indeed Kirk’s killer.

Manhunt Intensifies
The Utah Department of Public Safety has also released new photos of the person of interest, closely matching the suspect captured in the video. Officials are urging anyone with information to come forward, hoping that public vigilance will provide the breakthrough investigators desperately need.
“This is now the most direct look we have had at the alleged killer in the moments leading up to and immediately following the shooting,” an FBI spokesperson said.
A Call for Justice—and Democracy
As the manhunt continues, the tragedy has reignited calls for a return to civility and safety in American public life.
“A free and democratic society depends on the premise that people can speak out, organize, and participate without fear,” said one commentator. “That is the essence of freedom.”
The investigation remains active, and the public’s eyes on these new images may be the key to bringing the suspect to justice.
