Kim Kardashian Warned Kanye West About “Burning Bridges” in New Doc
A new documentary set to hit theaters on September 19th is already making waves, spotlighting a deeply personal and emotional phone conversation between Kim Kardashian and Kanye West — now known as Ye. The heated exchange, which reportedly took place after Ye’s controversial 2018 visit to the White House, reveals the stark differences in how the two stars view their public and professional lives.
In a tense scene from the documentary, Kim is heard tearfully confronting Ye:
“I can’t sleep. I’ve been crying all day. It’s just this bad dream that’s not ending. You’re losing. Everyone around you is like, ‘There’s a way to talk about what you feel, but when you’re this dramatic…’”
Ye, never one to hold back, replies:
“I don’t care about the music business. I don’t care about the work field. I’m in a slave business.”
The statement clearly strikes a nerve with Kim, who challenges the narrative directly:
“Just because you have a job and you work hard doesn’t mean you’re a slave. That’s demeaning. I work hard with brands that are similar to all of that… That’s not how I look at it.”
She continues,
“I think you’re offending a lot of people, including yourself, because they’ve provided a life for me that I never would have been able to provide. And I’m very grateful for that. I’m not about burning bridges with companies.”
Kim’s words come with the weight of experience — and a warning. She finalized her divorce from Ye in 2022 after years of high-profile challenges. Her closing remark during the call hits hard:
“You’re going to wake up one day and you’re going to have like nothing.”
Ye’s response is equally explosive:
“No, never tell me that I’m going to wake up one day and have nothing. Never put that into the universe!”
As the documentary promises to reveal more behind-the-scenes moments from one of the most public relationships in modern pop culture, viewers will get an unfiltered look into the emotional toll, personal philosophies, and power dynamics between two of the world’s most influential celebrities.
E! News has reached out to Kim Kardashian’s team for comment but has not received a response as of yet.
The documentary is scheduled for theatrical release on September 19th and is expected to spark further conversation surrounding fame, identity, and the complexities of partnership under the spotlight.
