BREAKING: Trump Ally Charlie Kirk Assassinated on Utah Campus — Attack Caught on Camera

OREM, Utah — Conservative activist and close Trump ally Charlie Kirk was fatally shot Monday night in a shocking rooftop sniper attack while speaking to a packed crowd at Utah Valley University. The assassination, which unfolded in front of thousands and was captured on multiple cameras, has stunned the nation and sparked an ongoing federal manhunt for the killer.

The 31-year-old founder of Turning Point USA was on stage delivering remarks during a stop on his “American Comeback Tour” when a single gunshot rang out at approximately 7:43 p.m. Witnesses described a moment of eerie silence, followed by panic as Kirk collapsed.

“It sounded like a firework — until we saw him fall,” said student Alyssa Grant, who was seated near the front. “People started screaming. Some ran. Others froze. It was chaos.”

Kirk was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency personnel. Medical examiners confirmed the bullet struck him in the upper chest, killing him almost instantly.

Assassination Caught on Camera

The entire attack was caught on live-stream cameras broadcasting the event to thousands online, as well as by multiple mobile devices in the audience. Footage shows Kirk standing mid-sentence before being violently knocked backward by the impact of the bullet.

Law enforcement officials later confirmed the shot originated from a nearby rooftop approximately 180 yards from the stage. Authorities believe the killer was lying in wait hours before the event began, with a bolt-action rifle concealed inside a bag.

FBI Launches Manhunt

As of Friday, no suspect has been arrested. The FBI has taken over the investigation, calling it a “targeted political assassination.” Surveillance video from surrounding buildings has led to the identification of a person of interest — a male, possibly in his twenties, seen fleeing the area on foot minutes after the shooting.

A bolt-action Mauser-style rifle was recovered from a wooded area near the rooftop, alongside a towel, boot prints, and a partial palm print believed to belong to the shooter.

FBI Special Agent Marcus Reid stated in a press conference:

“We will not stop until we find the individual responsible for this act of violence. This was not random. This was calculated.”

A $100,000 reward is being offered for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.

Nation Reacts

Kirk, a staunch ally of former President Donald Trump, had become one of the most recognized voices in conservative youth politics. Trump posted on Truth Social calling Kirk “a warrior, a patriot, and a brother in the fight to save America.”

President Joe Biden also issued a statement, calling the act “a horrifying reminder of the rising threat of political violence in our country.”

Utah Governor Spencer Cox has ordered flags flown at half-staff and called for unity:

“We may not all agree with Charlie’s views, but no one should fear for their life for expressing them.”
