Boy Returns From Death With A TERRIFYING Message From Jesus!
It all began with pain — sharp, unrelenting, and far too intense for a little boy of just three years old. Colton Burpo, the son of a small-town pastor, was rushed to the hospital with what doctors quickly realized was a ruptured appendix. His tiny body was shutting down. The odds were grim.
As surgeons worked frantically, his parents, Todd and Sonja, prayed as if heaven itself was hanging in the balance. In that sterile, fluorescent-lit room, they prepared themselves for the worst. Todd later admitted he had whispered a broken plea to God: “Please… don’t take my boy.”
For a brief and terrifying moment, it looked as though Colton’s short journey on Earth was over. His body lay lifeless on the operating table. But in that instant — when doctors saw only a fading pulse — Colton’s spirit opened its eyes to something beyond imagination.
A Boy in Heaven

Colton would later tell his parents, with the innocence and confidence of a child, that the first person he saw was Jesus Himself.
Dressed in dazzling white robes and a purple sash, Jesus descended gracefully before him. His presence radiated peace. But what struck Colton most were the “markers.”
“Daddy,” he said later, holding out his little hands and pointing to the palms, “Jesus has markers right here… and here,” bending down to touch the tops of his feet.
The “markers” were, of course, the wounds of the crucifixion — something Colton could never have known at his age.
The Sister He Never Knew
As the days passed, Colton shared details that left his parents reeling. One evening, he turned to his mother with a statement that froze her heart.
“Mommy,” he said softly, “did you know I have two sisters?”
Sonja was stunned. Colton only had one sister — Cassie. But before she could speak, Colton explained: “I met the other one in heaven. She told me she died in your tummy.”
Sonja wept. She had miscarried years earlier, a grief she had never spoken of to her young son. Yet Colton described meeting a little girl in heaven — their daughter, the child they had lost but never forgotten.
A World Beyond This One
When asked what heaven looked like, Colton’s eyes lit up with wonder.
“It was colorful,” he said, “all the colors we have here on Earth — and some more. New colors.”
He described meadows of grass, skies brighter than any blue he had seen, and mountains that seemed alive with glory. There were animals — even lions that were tame, gentle, and playful.
And there was no night, no storms, no tears. Only light. Only peace.
The music was like nothing he could explain — “like church music, but better,” he told them. Trumpets, symphonies, voices blending together in worship.
Recognizing Faces He’d Never Seen
Colton also claimed to have met his great-grandfather, “Pop,” a man who had died decades before he was born.
His father tested him by showing him old photographs. Without hesitation, Colton pointed to a younger image of his great-grandfather and said: “That’s him.”
It wasn’t the frail old man Colton’s father remembered, but the strong, youthful version of Pop — restored in heaven.
A Glimpse That Shook the World
What began as a near-death experience during emergency surgery became a testimony that touched millions. Todd Burpo would eventually write the bestselling book Heaven Is for Real, recounting his son’s incredible story.
Skeptics have debated it, theologians have questioned it, but for believers, Colton’s testimony offers a vivid confirmation of Christ’s promise:
“My Father’s house has many rooms… I go to prepare a place for you.” – John 14:2
Colton’s glimpse reminds us that heaven is not some distant dream, but a reality waiting for those who believe.
More Than a Story — A Message
Colton’s vision wasn’t just for his family. It was a wake-up call to the world. Heaven is real. Jesus is alive. And eternal life is not a fairy tale, but the truest reality there is.
When we strip away the noise of this world — the pain, the storms, the loss — what remains is God’s eternal promise:
“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain.” – Revelation 21:4
For a child barely old enough to read, these truths were etched into his soul forever.
And through him, they are etched into ours.
