Teen Dies in Church Shooting & Returns With A SHOCKING WARNING From Jesus
“My name is Daniel James Carter. I’m 17 years old — and on Sunday morning, November 5th, 2017, I died on the wooden floor of First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas. Two bullets in my back. Screams all around me. My mom crying out my name as everything faded to black.”
That’s how Daniel begins his testimony — a testimony unlike anything most believers have ever heard.
He wasn’t a preacher, not a saint, just a small-town kid. Football on Friday nights, pancakes on Sunday mornings, and a little white house with a dog asleep on the porch. His life was ordinary… until the moment everything changed.
When a gunman stormed his church, Daniel didn’t run. He moved toward the chaos, thinking of the children behind him. Two bullets dropped him instantly. His heart stopped for nineteen long minutes. Doctors would later say he should have never come back.
But he did. And the story of what he saw in those nineteen minutes has shaken Christians to their core.
The Moment Everything Went Dark

Daniel remembers floating above his own body, watching his parents sob over him as paramedics rushed in. But before fear could grip him, peace took over. A golden light pulled him upward, stronger and warmer than anything on earth.
And then, there He was — Jesus.
“Nothing prepared me for Him,” Daniel recalls. “His eyes saw everything I ever did, every mistake, every secret — and He loved me anyway. His love was so strong it broke me.”
But the encounter wasn’t just comfort. It came with a mission.
The Warning from Jesus
Jesus showed Daniel the spiritual reality behind the shooting — and the eternal fate of the gunman. He saw the shooter tormented in hell, not by fire alone but by the unbearable weight of his choices.
And Daniel wasn’t shown just one soul. He saw many — people who had attacked churches, schools, children. All consumed by regret. All realizing too late that their hatred had led them there.
Jesus spoke with sorrow but also urgency:
“Every time someone walks into a church with evil in their heart, hell celebrates. Satan wants my people scattered, afraid, too terrified to gather in my name. But do not let terror win. Tell them: Do not be afraid. Do not stop gathering. Do not lose faith.”
Then came the words that Daniel says are burned into his heart forever:
“I am coming sooner than they think. Tell my people to wake up.”
The Glimpse of Paradise
But Daniel didn’t just see hell. He saw heaven — and the 26 victims of that terrible morning welcomed as martyrs. Children laughing, families reunited, light brighter than the sun.
“Every one of them was more alive than they had ever been on earth,” Daniel said. “Their deaths weren’t the end. It was a doorway into something beyond beautiful.”
Jesus showed him how, even in tragedy, faith grows stronger. Communities come together. Hearts turn back to God. “The enemy means it for evil, but I turn it for good,” Jesus told him.
Coming Back With a Message
After nineteen minutes without a pulse, Daniel gasped back to life in the ambulance. His doctors called it impossible. His family called it a miracle.
But Daniel knew the truth: he came back with a message.
He warns those filled with anger that the path of hate ends in eternal torment. He calls Christians not to give in to fear but to keep worshiping, keep gathering, keep raising their children in faith.
And he pleads with the world:
“Hell is real. Heaven is real. I’ve seen both. And every morning we wake up, we’re choosing which path we’re walking. Don’t wait too long — because tomorrow might be too late.”
