The 3 Questions Jesus Will Ask You on Judgment Day!

Close your eyes for a moment and imagine this with me.

Time has stopped. The noise of the world—the cars, the phones, the endless distractions—has gone completely silent. You find yourself standing in a place that feels infinite, flooded by a light that pierces deeper than the sun. And before you stands a throne. The Great White Throne.

Seated upon it is the One who has known you since before you were born. The One who counted every tear, who saw every secret choice, every hidden thought.

This isn’t a movie scene. It isn’t a fairy tale. It’s a promise—a promise written in Scripture: “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ.” (2 Corinthians 5:10)

And on that day, all the things we cling to now—success, fame, wealth, achievements—will vanish like smoke. Nothing earthly will matter. Only eternity.

And according to the wisdom of the Bible and the saints, there are three questions that will echo into our souls on that day. Three questions that will determine eternity.

1. Did You Know Me?

The first question will not be: What did you achieve? or How hard did you work?
It will be: Did you know Me?

Many people think religion is about rituals—attendance, donations, recited prayers. But Jesus gave us a chilling warning:

“Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name? Drive out demons? Perform miracles?’ And I will tell them plainly: ‘I never knew you. Depart from me.’” (Matthew 7:22-23)

Think about that. These were religious people, active in ministry, even performing miracles. But they never actually knew Him.

To know Jesus is not the same as knowing facts about Him. It’s not about passing a catechism test. It’s about encountering Him. Speaking with Him in prayer. Kneeling at His cross in repentance. Receiving Him in the Eucharist as the Bread of Life. Walking with Him daily as Friend, Lord, and Savior.

The first truth of judgment is this: salvation is not a wage for the righteous—it is a gift for sinners who clung to Christ.

2. Did You Love?

But if we truly know Him, love will overflow into our lives. Which leads to the second question: Did you love?

Jesus paints the scene in Matthew 25. The King separates people like sheep and goats. And to the righteous He says:

“I was hungry and you gave me food. I was thirsty and you gave me drink. I was a stranger and you welcomed me.”

Surprised, they ask: “Lord, when did we see you like this?”
And He answers with the most revolutionary truth: “What you did for the least of these, you did for Me.”

At the evening of life, said St. John of the Cross, “we will be judged on love.” Not on intelligence. Not on wealth. Not on status. On love.

Not love as a feeling, but love as action—feeding the hungry, clothing the poor, comforting the lonely, forgiving those who wounded us. Every act of love is an answer to Christ Himself.

3. What Fruit Did You Bear?

Finally, the third question: What fruit did you bear?

Jesus tells us plainly: “I am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever abides in me will bear much fruit.” (John 15:5)

It’s not enough to simply avoid sin. God planted His grace in us—He expects it to multiply.

The fruits He looks for are threefold:

The fruits of character — Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. (Galatians 5:22-23) Evidence that His Spirit transformed us.

The fruits of mission — The souls we influenced through prayer, example, and testimony. Christianity is not a private gift; it’s a fire meant to spread.

The fruits of holiness — The daily struggle to turn away from sin, to choose Christ again and again, becoming the person God dreamed we could be.

A tree is not judged by its leaves, but by its fruit. Neither will we be.

The Final Hope

Now, let’s be honest. Who among us can say we’ve perfectly known Him, loved Him, and borne abundant fruit? None of us.

And here lies the good news: the Judge is also the Savior.

The hands that will open the books of judgment are the very hands pierced for our sins. The One who weighs our souls is the One who already died to redeem them.

For those who cling to Him, judgment will not be condemnation—it will be revelation. The final unveiling of a love story. The moment when every tear is wiped away, every hidden act of kindness rewarded, every prayer answered in eternity’s light.

Be Ready Today

So the real question isn’t what will happen then? It’s: what can I do today?

Today, deepen your relationship with Christ in prayer.

Today, show love to the least in your path.

Today, ask the Holy Spirit to bear fruit in you.

Because one day, those three questions will echo across eternity.

Did you know Me?

Did you love?

What fruit did you bear?

And your answer will not just tell your story. It will decide your forever.
