P. Diddy Called His Assistant 48 Times, Court Hears in Explosive Testimony

In a dramatic day of testimony in the ongoing federal case against music mogul Sean “P. Diddy” Combs, the court heard that Combs called his former assistant, Mia, an astonishing 48 times in a single night. The revelation came as part of the direct examination of Mia, identified as alleged victim number four, and was corroborated by text message exhibits shown to the jury.

Assistant Testifies to Intense Pressure and Threats

According to court reporter Elizabeth Milner, who has been present for every day of the trial, the prosecution focused on Mia’s experiences working for Combs, particularly during a 2015 trip to Cape Town, South Africa. Mia testified that, during this period, Combs repeatedly tried to contact her and Cassie, another former employee and alleged victim, after Cassie stopped responding to his messages.

Text messages presented in court showed Combs’ staff, including Christina Cororum, urgently trying to reach Mia on his behalf. In one exchange, Mia told Cororum, “I just woke up to 48 missed calls. I keep waking up to a million calls. I answer the phone at all times. We aren’t ignoring you; I’m just most likely asleep. This is really stressful.”

Mia further testified that Combs threatened to fire her if she did not return his calls within two minutes and pretended to call Human Resources to intimidate her. She described feeling panicked and under constant pressure, saying, “He doesn’t sound in his right mind at the moment.”

Jury Reaction and Emotional Testimony

Milner reported that the jury paid close attention during Mia’s testimony, with some jurors visibly shaken during her more emotional recounting of alleged sexual assaults and workplace abuse. However, due to the crowded courtroom, Milner noted it was difficult to see the full extent of the jury’s emotional reactions.

Mia also described being suspended without pay and receiving threats to her job security over minor work disputes, such as laying out workout clothes—responsibilities that typically belonged to other staff members.

Settlement and Continued Contact

After leaving Revolt Films in 2016, Mia said she was encouraged to hire a lawyer to pursue unpaid wages and bonuses. She ultimately settled for $400,000, half of which went to her attorneys. Mia recounted that even after Cassie filed her lawsuit against Combs in November 2023, Combs’ associates continued to reach out, pressuring her to speak with him. She described feeling threatened and traumatized, choosing instead to evade contact while trying not to provoke further anger.

Defense Cross-Examination Focuses on Social Media Posts

On cross-examination, defense attorney Brian Steel aggressively questioned Mia about her post-employment social media activity. Steel highlighted Instagram posts from years after the alleged assaults, showing Mia posing with Combs and writing positive captions about him. Steel pressed Mia on why she would publicly praise Combs if he had assaulted her, suggesting inconsistencies in her account.

Milner observed that Steel’s line of questioning, particularly his reference to Combs as “your rapist” while showing the jury photos of Mia and Combs together, elicited strong reactions from at least one juror.

Dispute Over Evidence and Charges

Earlier in the day, outside the presence of the jury, the defense objected to prosecution summary charts that labeled certain men as “escorts” in relation to allegations that Combs transported individuals for sex work. The government agreed to remove the “escort” label but maintained the importance of the travel records, which they argue correspond with messages and hotel reservations linked to the alleged crimes.

Case Continues

The trial is expected to continue with further testimony and cross-examination. The prosecution is set to call a summary witness to tie together evidence of travel, messages, and hotel stays. Meanwhile, the defense is likely to continue challenging the credibility of the government’s witnesses by focusing on inconsistencies and post-employment conduct.

As the case unfolds, the testimony of Mia and other former employees is painting a picture of a high-pressure, sometimes hostile workplace, with allegations of abuse and intimidation at the center of the prosecution’s case against Sean “P. Diddy” Combs.
